I was thinking more of a blended rate. As SL is unique, its labor rates are probably somewhat unique and should not be tied to "real world" minimum wage laws, etc...

But don't forget that one of the main measures of value in SL is Time itself. If somebody "works" for 8 hours and only collects L$100, is that a fair compensation for them? If they wanna take their money back to RL, it amounts to about .30/cents for 8 hours of work. In SL, the things you can buy for L$100 that have value are few... Maybe a few tshirts.. Maybe a better measure might be to find a dozen of the most widely purchased items and base an 8/hr work day (or however long a work day in SL is) and use that as the min.wage. So in theory, if you work a day's wage in SL, you can afford 1 of the most common items in SL.

An interesting question in itself, "How long is (should) the average SL workday be?" I like it Alby. You never cease to amaze me. And yet, you rejected my marriage proposal

' As for the average SL workday, I suppose that depends on what the worker bee is doing. If they are working a nightclub, the work day might be a 2-3 hours. An event might only be 1 hour or so. I suppose its a variable from the business owner's standpoint.

I think to work out the actual value of the Linden we need to look at its buying power - a sort of Big Mac index, if you will. Exchange rates don't indicate what people are actually willing to work for.
