I would like to announce James Miller Taxi Co. JMTC has numerous flying taxi's, using the BosFlight system, flying throughout the world, transporting people quickly and easily from one location to another.
Here are just a few reasons why you should consider using JMTC:
1. Our flying taxis, using the BosFlight system, go faster than regular flight, yet are easier to control then jetpacks. This means that you will arrive at the exact location you requested in a timely fashion.
2. Since our qualified drivers are in control, you can sit back and relax and chat with your friends while you are quickly transported to your destination. It is not possible to chat while flying, but, you can chat while riding one of our taxis!
3. Our fares are much cheaper than teleport fees. Check out the fare chart below:
$5.00 - Destinations South of Tan and West of Boardman
$7.00 - Destinations South of Tan and East of Boardman
$10.00 - Destinations North of Tan
(All fares are from the Ahern Welcome Area/Stage4. If you are picked up at a different location, work out a fare with the driver.)
Please note, this fare chart is also posted on the side of each of our cabs.
If you are in need of a taxi, please send an IM to me, James Miller, if I am online, and I will be at the location asap.
We hope to see you onboard soon!

James, what arrangements are you willing to make for someone who'd like to drive one of your cabs? I could use a few bucks and I live in Shipley.

Well, although I modeled the cab, I had to pay Bosozoku $650 to script it and get it working correctly. We would have to purchase another one for you, but, I hope he will give us a better price since we are buying another one Contact me in world, and we will talk more.

Oh! And a hat - a cabby's hat.
Oh! Oh! And some polkas for the radio.
And can we have radios and a dispatcher who occasionally just keys the mic and makes loud burping noises?

That's your house we just passed? Well, then your speedometer must be off. Change? < I don't got no change for a twenty! Do I look like a bank? > Tip? Oh, thank you very much Sir. A testimonial...

I was working on my latest project in Little Tokyo (Sage) and I'd heard the announcment for the weekly show-and-tell. I wanted to show of my new Fairy: Navi, but I was in the middle of scripting something else. I thought about the time it would take to fly all the way to Dore (I'm a bit of a cheapskate and didn't want to pay L$16 to teleport there...)
Anyway, what should happen but James Miller himself comes flying down next to me in one of those brand-spankin'-new yellow hover taxis. "You need a ride to the event? L$10"
That was all it took to change my mind. I hopped on and paid the discount faire (compared to teleporting.) What I got was excellent door-to-Dore service, pleasant conversation, and I learned some new things about flying objects in Second Life. Allt for L$10 -- What a deal!
AND I got dropped off at the event in style! All heads turned to see my arrival. I felt like royalty: Hey! Bonjourno Everybody! I'm taking the sky taxi!

I took the taxi today from a Darkwood event to my home in Shipley, $7. It was awesome. I will be calling him again when I am in a hurry to get to an appointment far away. Only problem was Jin couldnt get in the cab due to lag issues so he sat on the fender and fell off half way!! LOL
edit: I actually took the cab from an Oak Wood event! I stand corrected! I am soooo geographically disoriented, I never know where I am.

Darwin modeled one of our two current models. I modeled the original model which is no longer used. Thank you all for the testimonials!

You can now take James' taxi to any of my events, and I will reimburse you for your fare.
Just pay James the fare, and he will IM me your name and fare amount. Then I'll pay you back for that amount.
James, this is a fantastic idea, and I will definitely be calling you for rides myself. I can get someplace more quickly than flying, without $20 teleport fees.
Thanks, Candie

Thanks for the kind words, Candie I would also like to mention that James Miller Taxi Co now has more than one cabbie! Nick Fairlight, Darwin Appleby, and Kathy Yamamoto are all employees of JMTC. They all have the title Cabbie over their heads. Feel free to IM me if you are in need of a ride. If I am unavailable, I can send a group IM and get another cab to your location ASAP. If I am not online, feel free to IM one of the names mentioned above for a ride. Oh, one last thing. Any store owners that would like me to recommend your stores to newbies, please give me a landmark, preferably in a notecard, so I can find your store and so I can tell the newbies some things about it. Thanks.

Hey James, is it possible to set up a taxi cab service mini station (sort of like a bus stop, but a taxi stop) in every sim? You know a place with a button or something that sends out a message to one of you that calls you guys to come to the station to pick up whoever is waiting? Would be cool, that way we wouldn't have to IM you. Just some ideas from my odd mind. You can put the first one at Teal Park of you want!!!!!!! (if its possible that is ) lol i keep editing.....or if not a taxi stop, then something we could keep in our homes/stores/buildings to press to call you.. lala

James, just a suggestion. It wouldn't be a real cab unless you come within 2 inches of non moving objects a minimum of fours times throughout the trip. And you must have a bodyodor thats kills all plant life as it passes. Suggestions for authenticity. Crow

Aurelie, thats actually a good idea! They have those in NY, so you don't have to see a cab to hail one. I will contact a scripter to see how hard it will be to set up. Meanwhile, if you see a cab and you want us to pick you up, just wave a lot, and if we see you, and we dont already have a passanger, we will pick you up!

My lawn in Shipley is available for pick-up and delivery too. First time in my life I enjoyed public transportation.

James are your taxis driven by real SL AVs or Robotic SL AVs like the JohnnyCab in Totall Recall?
Either would be interesting.
Very Cool Idea can't wait to try one.
Do We have to have a destination ? Can We say take us on a tour of such and Such Sim
Do We get more of a discount if We Taxi Pool with outhers
What is next a Limo Service
Glad this is working so well for you.

All taxi cabs are driven by real avatars, not robots.
You dont have to have a destination, I have taken many people on tours of locations. Or, if they want to go shopping, I can make some recommendations and take them there.
There is no discount for riding with others, but, you folks are encouraged to split the fare with the other passangers.

I would like to announce advertising opportunities on my cabs, and in my Taxi Stops. If you have a business or location that you would like to advertise, please contact me, James Miller. Why is it good to advertise on my cabs and taxi stops? Simple! Since most of the people that use us are newbies, they don't know any of the locations in Second Life. If they don't know where they want to go, they will simply see your advertisement and decide to go there! Also, on a side note, if you would like to have a Taxi Stop placed on your land or at your store, please contact me as well. Thanks!
