From: Catherine Cotton I'm sorry Flip you seem think that your opinion matters to me somehow. Sorry to hear about this grave error in judgement. But wait, you didn't answer her other than to flame. You said that? Wow. Do you use downriggers or outriggers? I thought you actually had a moral stance other than just being miserable to everyone.

From: Korg Stygian Ergo, saying that the median value is 75$L is meaningless. Many people may earn and receive far more than the 75$L each week in bonus money -- indeed, theoretically, over 90% could and we could still have 75$L as the median bonus stipend. We have no clue how many as we have not been given complete information.
Korg the point LF was making is that the amount of L$ that we are talking about is pretty much a TINY amount LOL And YEAH of course there's a difference between mean(arithmetic mean, aka the sum of a list of numbers, divided by the total number of numbers in the list), median(middle value in a list), and Mode(the most common value or VALUES... you can of course have more than one mode). anyone who has had Statistics 101 knows that. But I think the difference is pretty insignificant with regards to this thread. I do agree though that it would be nice for LL to release such information to the public, so we could draw our own conclusions about it PEACE, Arti

Wow, I've been called a troll by CATHERINE! Talk about the pot and the kettle. My quoting your previous post has shown several things; (a) You change your views based on your current mood and/or quest; (b) You react immaturely to anyone questioning those views; (c) You will attack, but when questioned on your attacks, you immediately resort to immature name calling; (d) You sound like a guest on Jerry Springer with all this "You Don't Know Me!" crap; Why don't you just say "Shit" in your posts instead of "$hit"? The word is already on EVERY post you make in your header. Warmest Regards, -Flip

The in-game wealthy island/business owners will never care what happens to the rest of the SL community until a lack of viable events and money in general gradually drives the rest of us out, leaving them with nobody to sell their virtual products to anymore. And by then, it'll be too late. Please let me be wrong for a change.

From: Alan Palmerstone No.
Per Robin's latest post:
Bonus amounts paid out as weekly 'Stipend Ratings' will be decreased over the next several months, beginning next week.
Philip also said in the thread about zeroing the ratings:
+ Another issue is do we want to wait until there are no more incentives (ratings bonuses), so that there is no money-related incentive to rate, however small. Again, we have this option to wait because of the database.
While maybe freaking out is not the right response, neither is saying "it is a dime, STFU!" Yah that first sentence you pointed out "will be decreased over the next several months"....was the first thing that came to my mind as well! Thank you for indication of that detail that was unnoted by thread starter. I feel you read between the lines just as I did and the lack of clarity as to particulars of how this will be brought to fruition left me feeling that is was a dance around to a zeroing the ratings eventually. So yah...IT FREAKED ME OUT!

Your statement is completly unjustly made. I dont see a quote you disagree with or your opinion on anything I have said in the last couple of days. So what do you base this opinion on? As far as I am concerned it was posted in an attempt to anger me. Which it didn't. So I can only surmise it was yet another Troll remark.

Good point, Emma. I can't understand what Catherine's point is after Jeska's edit, but that's okay, I probably wouldn't have understood it before, either! Regards, -Flip

Just a minor point of semantics, but possibly one that changes the effect of this a lot. Philip said the amount of rating stipends would be cut in half, but he didn't say how that would happen. They may choose to cut the size of the pool in half, and keep the same formula for allocating rating stipends based on that pool. I don't know what effect that would have on payouts, but it probably wouldn't result in people receiving payouts of L$37.50 each week.

Just to clarify, STIPENDS are not changing, and there are not plans to change.
Ratings BONUSES are changing. The rating bonus has always been that... a BONUS, never part of the stipend. These BONUSES are the only part of your weekly payment that is being cut in half, and eventually phased out / moved in another direction.
I first heard Robin mention this as the new direction in the "mini town halls" (the ones on the economy) about ... 7 months ago?

I like how catherine seems to have stopped paying attention in favor of posting the same response to EVERYTHING. No, I didn't post to anger you, I posted because you reacted immaturely when Flipper pointed out you contradicting yourself. Maybe you feel like you're above all of us "trolls" but I think you've just managed to prove that you are, in fact, far far below.

From: FlipperPA Peregrine I first heard Robin mention this as the new direction in the "mini town halls" (the ones on the economy) about ... 7 months ago? That you happened to hear about it that long ago probably doesn't mean squat to those who are just now hearing about it - it certainly doesn't make me feel all warm and squishy. Seems to have been a failure to communicate to a majority of the embedded audience here if you ask me. Then again, that's happened multiple times here since I joined so why should it be any different in this instance/on this issue?
