What avatars do people want?

Hi there. Since I started in SecondLife I've spent all my time learning building and making avatars (prim based ones). I opened a couple of shops a couple of days ago (one in the Galleria and one in the Pyramid Bazzar) and although quite a few people seem to be going to those places I've not sold a single one. So, what sort of avatars do people want? I figured that maybe I should ask people what they want, to see if I'm well off the mark with what I'm doing currently. I don't want to make copies of anything that exists in RL, as I see a lot of that already and prefer to make things up.

If anybody has any advice on the type of avatars people want, I'd appreciate it.

That my friend is called marketing. It's not that no one likes your products it might be the way you set up your avatars. Perhaps that location isn't good. I never liked malls or bazaars, they're way too laggy. Don't start making different avatars of like.. celebrities or something, make avatars you enjoy making. But if you're really desperate for someone to buy products, focus on an audience group (ex- I make anime avatars so I talked to some anime fans) and find out what they like and don't like.

Yes I know it's market research, which is why I posted this message :) I didn't mean to suggest that I would start making totally different avatars, or make ones of celebrities, more what kinds of avatars do people look for - I don't know if I'll like making them unless I try.

I may look for my own land but the problem is I'm not sure where to start looking for good store land.

Just looked at the pics in your other thread... I really like that chicken. May have to go have a closer look at that one.... I like the idea of a giant chicken hanging around at my Oasis. :D

I had already started building a jellyfish but wasn't happy with the tentacles but maybe I'll go back to that now :)

A seahorse would be good as well....hmmm

A few of my current avatars use the trick and script provided kindly by Beatfox Xevious, which lets you attach prims to make parts of you invisible. My MyRobot avatar does this with the chest and the Stickman requires it as well.

I also put a couple of free avatars out for Halloween, one of which was a ghost that looks like it's floating :) So it's possible to do.
