finally, i can prove to all my friends that i'm not crazy and Miz Jelena's Sweet Potato Pie actually did exist. Ahh, vanilla ice cream with pieces of pie crust and real sweet potato - a strange but intoxicating combination.

The heck with boycotting taxes in SL!

BOYCOTT Ben and Jerry's for dropping From Russia With Buzz!

Next to Haagen Dazs' Cappuccino Commotion (also no longer available) this was my wife's all time favorite ice cream.

Sigh. Now we have to find her a new treat!

Bovinity Divinity, gone? MMmmmmoooHooo hooo!

But seriously. I've learned I can no longer be loyal to my beloved B&J. The company with the best flavor (& texture) now wins. YES! I cross company lines and I freely admit it!

That being said, Dryers Dreamery "Fortunate Vanilla" is DARN good and I'm not even a huge vanilla fan. :p

Misnomer - I hear ya. Dreamery has a flavor called Coney Island Waffle Cone which is amazing.

Of course, growing up in NY I have a special place in my heart for Carvel Ice Cream Cakes and Baskin Robbins Clown Cones....

I just dont "get" Carvel. I tried it once when a shop opened in WLA. It was like have a little ice cream with your air....hehe.

I have yet to try Cold Stone Creamery but its all the rage here now. I'm wondering how much of the hype is that its interactive. Thats all fine but give me flavor!

Dreamery is usually a good bet for ice cream but sometimes their mix ins are sub par. I cant remember the flavor but I tried one that had brownie bits in it and they were terrible.

Yeah, i haven't tried Cold Stone yet either but had Steve's back in the early 1990s when they were pioneering the "mix-in." I'm not sure if i really liked the concept or if it was just the fact my parents thought it was gross.

Carvel is terrible ice cream but they had commercials for their ice cream cakes which are burned into my memory. Just barely a step above public access cable.

We've got this amazing ice cream out here from Mitchell's which is among the best i've ever tasted. Also had the chance to eat Graeter's (sp?) from Cincinnati which is pretty good.

Yup, in San Francisco - Mitchell's is located in the Mission and served at several restaurants throughout the city.

Hehe I tried Cold Stone and IMHO it was kinda nausiating... at least the other scoop shops (short of Baskin Robins) have sanitary seats and unused cups, I mean, really.... The ice cream was mearly Ok, I think I'd take Hagan Daas over it, and the toppings were nothing you couldn't get at Smart and Final's cheaper ;)

I was in the Bay Area I should have tried Mitchall's... Oh well, next time I guess.

Bluebell ice cream.

People have been known to smuggle it out of Texas in coolers filled with dry ice. :D

And I *think* it's made the trip to orbit at least once? (I could be wrong on this point, but I'm pretty sure about the ice cream smuggling ;) )
