Legalized drugs, prostitution and gambling...these are all good things? Huh?

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

In my opinion, yes. Legislating personal responsibility away from individuals and removing any real control (through regulation) of those is not working. I'm all for legalized drugs, prostitution, and gambling. Regulate them and tax them. Use portions of the taxes to fund programs for abusers and addicts.

The current plan isn't working.. so maybe it's time to try something new.

I agree Juro - Many states now have legalized gambling and it has had virtually no effect on them outside of a small contribution to the states tax base.

If they allowed legal prostitution establishments then they would take the criminal element out of prostitution and also take them off of the streets. Problem is - if they did that then there would no longer be justification for a select group of people to scream about eliminating them.

I just don't see the problem here. If you don't believe in gambling - don't gamble. If you can't control yourself, well, that's your problem - so get it taken care of. Go to a GA meeting. (I am not minimizing an addiction - just saying that I believe elimination of temptation is not a viable answer.) We hold people accountable when they have drinking problems, how is gambling different?

Most objections to prostitution involve the element that it brings to a neighborhood. If it were legalized and zoned then this would no longer be an issue. Again – my premises is, if you feel this is morally objectionable, don’t go to one. If you feel that it is exploiting women, then work on creating better jobs for everyone so that women have more choices.

If you object to gambling and prostitution because you consider them immoral and think that everyone one else in the world should be held to your moral standards….

Well then – I'll fight you on it for everything I'm worth. I hate being told how I should believe. I have my own moral compass - thank you very much.

Heard of it yes...and christians have been party to Cleansing as well....Indian heathens in the US took quite a blow from ethnic cleansing as did all those involved in the Crusades. Religion is usually the jumping off point of war. Most people in this country believe that the muslims are trying to take over the world and they very well may be...but so are christians and jews. This is a tactic used to fire people up into a frenzy of fear. Those creating the fear really have no care for religion...they want what the elite have always wanted...land, oil, money, gold, furs, spices any tradable commodity. The supporters of the war are then put on the front lines to give their lives so that those at the top end can make a buck. It is a pyramid scheme of epic proportion.

couldn't have said it better myself :)...the prohabition movement is proof of the disasterous effects of regulating morals to "save" the "ingnorant" masses. The outcome is an underground market, the creation of gangs, and that element of taboo that draws people into the underbelly. Making it legal gives far more control through regulation. But then we couldn't make prison building into a money making government industry and all those victimless crimes would not be available to criminalize every person in America....

Not only in the US. Every native South of the border, from the Rio Grande to Tierra del Fuego, got stripped of his/her religion by the Spanish and Portuguese invaders. Many churches from the 1500-1800's in Latin America, are built right over destroyed native temples. And that is why I do not worship the European God.

But, I don't blame modern day Europeans. It is a sad fact of life that "those who have the power, do the ass kicking" © regardless of race, religion, sex, or national origin. Power and the abuse of it, is an equal opportunity employer.

The Aztecs, Toltecs, Olmecs, Mexicas, Incas, Sioux, Apache and all other Indian Nations, did their share of murderous deeds; all in the name of religion, land, politics, sex and power, just like their white, black and yellow brothers have done in other lands.

In SL, the Aztec city I am building, Cihuatlan, is built in the honor of and for the worship of Tlazolteotl, Aztec Goddess of the Earth, Sex, and Pleasure; and in memory of all innocent men, women and children who have died at the hands of those who thought, for one reason or another, that were better than them.

Tito - I cannot wait to see your Cihuatlan build. Sometime back I'd built an Anasazi Ruin but ended up selling the land. In any case, I have some great stone textures and I also have a lot of desert plants that I would be happy to contribute to your build if you need them.
