Haney was a monster. He once ate a kitten right in front of me and didn't even have the decency to offer me a bite. Granted he is markedly better than the other Lindens (especially the nasty caucasian ones) but nonetheless now is not the time to idealize but instead to remember the crimes of he who would not share a bite of the kitten.

Awwwwwwwwwww we going to miss you Haney!!

When was the last time anybody actually saw Haney in-world? The reason I ask is that he's always been very regular posting on the forums - that is until the 10th February. No posts at all since then so that does beg the question - has Haney been gone for a while and we're only just finding out now because people realised he had been erased? When was the last time anybody had contact with Haney? I'm really curious.

I've only seen 1 Linden publicly say he's gone (Robin) and that was just a 'unforutnately Haney is no longer a Linden' message on a post on the Hotline forum.

For somebody who had been here for so very, very long and was one of the most visible Lindens, doesn't that strike people as a little odd? Just disappearing in a cloud of dust with nothing else said.

Well, they gave his old job to Char, and put him in charge of the Instructor program or something. The Instructor program being deader than the dodo, my first guess would be that he was no longer needed, and got bored or fired?

Well I'd have to lean towards fired at this point as it just seems very strange for nothing official to have been said about it. I mean, if it was amicable in any way at all, I would of thought he'd told other people he was leaving, maybe the Lindens would have announced it, and maybe Haney would of posted about it. But it appears that nobody knew and the Lindens aren't saying much, so it all strikes me as a sudden thing and not something necessarily be mutual consent or amicable. I mean Haney had been here since near the beginning, hadn't he? You'd of thought that him moving on would of been talked about, wouldn't you?

I'm not sure they gave Haney's old job to Char, I thought Char was going to be in charge of organizing the liaisons for the teen grid. I had Haney's calling card, so I went in-world to see when he last logged in. His join date was 10-11-2002, so he wasn't in SL at the very beginning (I believe Steller Sunshine was the first member of SL, and her join date is in March 2002). The weird thing is that he still shows as an officer of some groups on the calling card I have, but when I search the group member list for his name, it's gone, so I can't check last login date.

I remember a couple Lindens leaving and announcing their departure publicly (David and, I think, James). But, I'm sure other Lindens have left without any fanfare. Who knows. It's weird to have somebody whom we've grown to feel we know as a trusted person in our virtual community just disappear without a word, but, hey, it's not RL, it's SL, after all.

I heard he got caught making copies of his butt and faxing them to Philip at a company party.

True. I wonder if Haney will go into the SL user mythology as "The Linden who vanished without a trace"?

Haney posed for Playboy, and was then unjustly fired for not upholding the supposed image of Linden labs.

There is a lawsuit pending, and thus the silence from both parties.

I thought that's what you had to do to get hired at LL not fired.

Does anyone know Haney in RL so we can get the inside scoop? I'm curious to know why he left so suddenly, especially if it was related to unfair treatment by management. I'd loathe to send my monthly payments to a corporation that's mistreating its employees.

I remember a shootout in Blue sim with Haney against the Americana group. Great fun was had by all.

Sad to see you moving on Haney. But I wish you the best of luck. Please say Hi if your ingame. We will all miss you.
