Thought I whould share this with you. I've been watching a couple of those player run sim projects and got quite interested in that Neualtenburg one. Then I came across a thread the owner of the project posted /103/35/39009/1.htmlI read it and found her trashing another player who runs a sim too. Hell, she even called her a bat and stuff. That put me off and I posted a reply: From: Bubba Anansi I've been watching Neualtenburg with great interest. But after reading this thread I decided that <other player> will be the better choice for me. Now I just went back to that thread and saw that my post has been removed. Lol, I stared at my screen in disbelief. Then it was pointed out to me that Miss Neualtenburg has mod powers in that forum and can delete stuff at will. I first thought Neualtenburg would be cool after reading promises of stuff like democracy, freedom of speech and a bottom up community. I can only warn you. What I came across instead can at best be described as "stalinist democracy". Disappointing indeed.

Well if you would have taken the time to read through the forum you would understand why your post was deleted....particular threads in that forum are where we discuss how to handle and implement ideas through our senate....we don't allow non members to post to those threads and the last time I checked you weren't a Neualtenburg member.
Those are active discussions on how we are trying to implement ideas. Become a member and post to your hearts content ...don't and any posts that you place will be deleted in threads where we are discussing group politics..
The group forums are just that and we can and will handle them as we see fit.
If you wish to start a thread and say something that would be fine but don't think you have the right to come into a thread where we are trying to discuss the future needs of our community and think you have a right to speak especially when you aren't a part of the community.
Furthermore if you were serious about a discussion you would have read the forum and known this and you wouldn't be posting this drivel in the general forums.

In my years on this planet I've often noticed that those who preach loudest about democracy and free speech are often the first to refuse it (and note, I am a liberal).
I once, as a student, watched 3 different socialist sects (each about 5 people) hold up a group consensus (more than 70 people) for TWO HOURS because they wouldn't let the 55 other people's agreed decision stand. In fact, their own views were RIGHT (each of the three groups had different views and hated each other of course) and they tried to bully everyone else into agreeing.
In the end, loud booing sorted them out.
This example has never been countered in any other dealings with the extreme left, so frankly, I'm not surprised.
What's more, you'd be better off joining a group which isn't so insular. I'd suggest looking at the folks who founded Meins, truly public-spirited and interested in helping the WHOLE of SL organise productively.

The forum I came across is public and I replied to their boss trashing another Second Life player and calling her animal names. She didn't like my post and censored me. She got the power - she used the power. Neualtenburg? - Kthxbye!

Hold on, have any of you who are agreeing with Bubba actually read that thread?
I certainly don't see any Anshe bashing in it, so I'm not sure what the drama is about - Ulrika is simply using an analogy to explain parallel evolution - Anshe's a bat in that analogy. It's hardly trashing now, is it, by any stretch of the imagination.
As far as I can see you got a post deleted on a thread that had nothing to do with you in a group forum moderated by Ulrika. From that you wish to paint a picture of Ulrika being spiteful and nasty about Anshe - a picture that, if you read the thread at all, you'll realise is completely false. The thread's long, so I guess most people will just jump on your bandwagon and not take the time to read it as the mob tends to do. You're just trying to bash Ulrika for no reason at all.
Ho hum. And no, I have nothing to do with that project at all. Far from it, I've bashed heads with Ulrika several times, but what you're accusing her of in this instance is ridiculous.

From: Seth Kanahoe Neualtenburg's vice-president in charge of recruitment and larger community relations? Perhaps before someone responds in a group forum they should read first and since his comments weren't even about the thread in question but about a comment made in the thread it didn't belong.. And no I'm not in charge of recruitment ...can you guess why?

From: Talen Morgan If you had a brain you should have used it...what you probably posted had no content regarding us purchasing a new sim...Be a dumbass be treated like a dumbass....learn to read rules and you'll have a clue... From: Ulrika Zugzwang In biology this is what's known as parallel evolution. Two or more organisms not closely related independently acquire similar characteristics, while evolving in the same ecosystem. Because we share the same ecosystem (rules and financial requirements supplied by LL), it is inevitable that we have made similar adaptations to that ecosystem. Still, we are very different organisms. We are a nonprofit collective organized from the bottom up with the goal of sharing power among all citizens by means of a true government, we are focused on collaborations and community, and selling land for us is secondary. Anshe on the other hand is working from the top down as the only source of power, creating themed regions as a method to rent and sell large tracts of land for a profit. To complete my biological analogy, while a bird and a bat do have similar phenotypes, their genotypes are quite different. (Anshe is the bat.) ~Ulrika~ I apologize. I must be a "dumbass" for not seeing how your leader praising herself as a bird and calling someone else a bat is all about purchasing a new sim

From: Moopf Murray Hold on, have any of you who are agreeing with Bubba actually read that thread? Read it. Not necessarily agreeing with him... I'm just one of these: From: Ulrika ... we were afraid that a group of antigovernment troublemakers would join the group and wreak havoc with our fledgling government. -Ghoti

From: Bubba Anansi I apologize. I must be a "dumbass" for not seeing how your leader praising herself as a bird and calling someone else a bat is all about purchasing a new sim At least you recognize your affliction....again the thread was a community thread on purchasing a new sim and your comments had no place period......as was also stated in order for you to take part in those discussions you need to be a member.. Ulrika is also not the leader... again if you would have read up about the project and where we are at this point you would have a clue. Lastly you might consider going back to school and learning about analogy.

And Moopf, I was thinking the same thing when I read over the thread for the first time. I din't see an insult, but rather a comparison of sorts. *shrug* And now, because it can never get old... This is the kind of thread I don't need to be in because all my pet points are made by others.
Feel free to talk among yourselves.

Neualtenburg as a zoo of caged monkeys. When your Mistress comes to your cage does she feed you bananas between the maturbating? Live and let live. I shouldn't have started this thread. I wasn't aware of your lifestyle. Sorry, bud.
