First off Tori, my response was to the start of the thread aka HIRO's Post.

Second Tori, you need to get a thicker skin to hang in the forums especially when something isn't directed at you. Also if I direct something at you there will be no mistaking that you were the target of the reply such as I have done here.

Next time consider I may have been posting when you were and did not see your post as it was 6 minutes before mine and typically when I respond the response window may be up 10 to 15 mins as I may be bouncing in and out from work before I hit SUBMIT.

Now back to the point at hand.

I was merely pointing out a fact.

Why is it our business to know about others relationships?
And seriously Who Cares?

SL isnt Jerry Springer or one of those cagey talk shows.

So please explain to me why its anyone elses business about online relationships in SL?

Polling this sort of information is simply intrusive and argumentative as you can see by the 20 mile high letters Tori used to jump at somthing that was not even directed at her unlike this statment I am finishing now.

Tori , have a nice day but next time think before you leap as you dont know whats going on on the other side of the web. This was a clear sign of not knowing and off the hip retorts such as that will not be tolerated long by many.

Remember Not once have I ever made a direct quote, connotation or berevement about your charature. Nor have I ever commented on the general attitude in which you conduct yourself. In the future I would request the same respect from you in reference my postings. Especially when the comment was derrived from a text that was a gross misunderstanding on the other poster's part.

Mine lasted about 2 months, and I never regreted one moment of it as she is a special wonderous lady who is still a great friend to this day and is dear to my heart. Right now though I am single in SL so I guess the only relationship I have now is with the game itself, and BOY do I love her.... I mean it, I ment to say IT. LOLOL Santa want to give me a gift for X-Mas (and I don't mean a lomp of coal )? Hohoho.......

My RL romance howerver has lasted for 15 years so that counts for something at least (at least to us). Any takers for one in SL?

I "met" my gf on IRC. It turned out that she had gone to the same high school as I, and lived only a couple blocks away from me. We got together after 6 months... It'll be 5 years on January 16. We'll be married as soon as I get my ass out of college and into a decent job.

Your posting certainly looked like an attack on Tori. Saying who cares, and implying that people who do are busybodies certainly seemed to me as though it was directed at Tori. If it genuinely wasn't, then perhaps clothing your statements in a blanket of qualification might help keep out the chill wind of misunderstanding.

No, it certainly wasn't a troll. Nor was it really a personal attack, because although I didn't specifically state as much, the remarks were directed at your postings. You have never said anything untoward to me, Shadow, at least that I can remember. But I have noticed that many things seem to make you angry. I think that sometimes others find some of your postings hurtful.

To answer your question:
It isn't our business. I agree.

The poll was made so people can respond anonymously. People chose to give details; okay, that's fine, I personally really don't care unless that person is my friend, but whatever. It's all cool.
The poll's subject was a single detail about a relationship - the length. It also was about "the longest relationship in SL", not even the current one.

What I am curious about is the nature of SL relationships in general. I think Flip hit it right on the nose when he listed the three types that he observes. The poll was a way for me to put some unscientific feelings out there.

The sampling is only from people who happened to browse the forum in the past couple days, so it's nothing concrete, just interesting results.

Not that long, but we've not known each other that long either... 12 weeks and counting.

But looking at the results I have to ask if you took out the 'longest' part and looked a distribution of RL relationships you might get something similar to that, apart from the 'never had one' at least from my observations.

My lover in RL and SL, lol, we started seeing each other September 16, 2004. and during that time, i lost a RL fiance due to circumstances that i care not to talk about. We met in RL October 22. So baby, it hasn't been 6 months. But close!
