who are your sl heroes?

apologies to anyone i neglect to mention... the list is quiet long and i'm only going to mention a few:

1. Loki Pico, always around, always helping new residents, patient as the day is long - most helpful person i know in sl.
   
2. the Fairchangs, always doing something to make SL more fun, model business people, sweet couple, pituca always seems to be in live help trying to help people out.
   
3. Lumiere Noir for investing so much time in the Ivory Tower of Primitive in Noyo. this is one of the best learning tools in sl.
   
4. Jopsy Pendragon for showing everyone what can be done with particles in Teal, and especially for setting up the best way to learn about particles - the Particle Laboratory
   
5. any linden in customer support for all the shit they have to put up with and not actually strangle people.

Jenna Fairplay - for inspiring me

Treebee Withnail for making things 'fluffy' wherever she goes

Swaffette Firefly for making kick arse clothes & helping so many new players with something 'cool' to wear.

Shokra Patel & Anni Lilly for doing Toys for Tots

Neph, Mistress, Torrid, Launa - They have always been my inspiration in fashion design and I will always look up to them.

Catherine Omega - For her general smartitude and esoteric knowledge.

Francis Chung - More smartitude, with an uncanny eye for quality.

Torley Torgeson - Torley's positive attitude, and social disposition should be an example for us all. A relative newcomer to SL, Torley demonstrates that age is not necessary for success.

Ben and Ryan Linden - For their beautiful and often clever content.

Jeska, Pathfinder, Robin Linden - For being willing to get so much poop all over themselves so that we can have a functional forum!

Pandastrong, Siggy, Unhygenix - For causing me to look like an idiot at work when I laugh out loud at their posts.

There are more but I don't want to go on and on.

Ulrika Zugzwang --'Cos I'm crazy like that.

Amen, she is one of my SL heroes too. She is fearless, and equal parts brilliant and stone cold nuts. BTW, nice to see you still around, Kendra, I have missed seeing you post.

I know I am about to be unpopular and branded an alt, and god knows what else, but here it goes: Prokofy Neva. For always having the courage to stand by his convictions in the face of overwhelming pressure to conform. Right or wrong Prok is true to himself, and that takes courage.

Aimee Webber for daring to get on the back of my hover bike when I was experiementing with driving on my laptop. And also for giving us dork girls the notion that we can be cool.

Ingrid Ingersol for her biting wit. For investigating and making known good architecture. And for making heels that are classy for when I don't feel like a sloot.

Cubey Terra for my hoverbike.

Shadow Weaver for my Hornet

Snakekiss Noir for some fantastic furniture.

Anshe Chung for breaking the celing wide open.

(I started this post listing all the people I admire and love from a distance, like Cristiano Midnight and RacerX Gullwing but then decided that the word 'hero' had to mean a little more than mere coolness, competance and even brilliance, ahero is someone who will stand up for you, the little guy, and take a bullet....)

Lucah Solvang + Arito Cotton: The best furry av makers ever and my best friends. <3 Nothing much more to say about that. Lucah is incredibly artistic as well, and she is so sweet. They both make my little heart melt.

BisCOOT: Because he's so funny and we share funny toilet humor. Huzzah!

FlipperPA, Jennyfur; Aimee and the 'Midnight' Crew: Even though I don't always hang around them as much as I used to, they have mostly accepted the fact that I am an anti-social bum who wears a furry av. Nevertheless, if I ever need to talk to anyone for anything, they are always there at the drop of a hat. For that, I will always be thankful!

Vincent Knox: My RL and SL love. Always #1. I love you Oh yes.. he's a role model because.. he's cute! yes! *runs*.

And does it without regard for the cost to themselves, simply because they believe they are doing the right thing.

As a builder/av maker, I find Lumiere Noir and YadNi Monde inspiring. Also Jase Byrne, for the tireless effort he puts into the SL community, currently via Touchstone (tho that's an example my anti-social ass isn't likely to emulate).

chromal brodsky, who first made me feel at home and welcome in SL

I really admire chip midnight for his talent and his brains and here in the forums, quite often, his clarity

kage seraph, for creative genius and unbelievable generosity

there are so many more people I would name who make SL such a worthwhile experience, but the list would be long, and I am terrified of leaving someone out!

Nikolaii Uritsky for being one of the strongest, smartest people I know.

Chip Midnight for being insanely articulate and all-around nice guy. Oh, and that whole master-of-design thing.

I admire Anshe Chung greatly for her indelible contribution to SL.

Taco Rubio: you rock and there's just nothing you can do about it.

pandastrong Fairplay for his humor and intelligence. Oh, and the go-to guy for random questions off the top of my head (sorry).

And Nolan, sure it seems silly to add you to my heroes list 'cause I somehow made it on yours already, but I honestly think you're so smart and cool. Been reading your forum posts for a long time and it was great to meet you finally

(in regards to our interpretation of 'hero' and our choice of the mighty Prok) yeah, talent and even genius are all around us here but hero's are a rarer breed...

Yari Yossarian - For being with me through it all, the ups and downs, and the good and bads... he'll forever be dear to my heart.

Shari Zuma and Autumn Rosebud - both of their creative minds inspire me, thank you both for being two of my closest friends.

Green Fate - This man just simply amazes me - his work, mind and spirit. hugs <3 and all that shyte

Lucia Lumiere and Masakazu Kojima - one of the two smartest anime av's around - their friendship is priceless.

Of course there are many others, including SL itself - for if it wasn't for SL I would have never met them to begin with

The texturer from Bedazzled - Jimmy? - I've learned more by studying his textures than any course in 3D texturing I think I could have taken. My belated thanks for putting all those innovative ideas out there for us lesser mortals to take inspiration from.


Kona and Brent Linden. Both bug tracking champions and fun to boot....even if that isn't zinc oxide on Brent's nose.

Baron Grayson. That guy's a texture pimp. I think if I ever met him I'd be a tongue-tied schoolgirl.

Toy Lafollette - For showing the natural side of SL that so contrasts the urban sprawl. :>

Trimming Hedges - Just for being a cool little historical presidential clone... And because he was a great teacher too.

Hudson Stryker - Whose early 2004 picture was pretty much my deciding factor to try SL out.

Jill Linden - For that slap on the wrist back in August. I'LL NEVER USE GUNS AGAIN! (And the way she said "And I have to tell you of /all/ people that?" I felt guilty.)

Torley Torgeson - For making me feel all squishy and special inside.

Me - Cuz someone has to say it. ^_^

Baccara Rhodes, Mash Miranda and all those involved in creating such amazing themed builds as the Wizard of Oz and Olde London.

Baron Grayson because he is a genius !!!!!

Keith Extraordinaire because he is one of the most phenomenal builders in SL.

Malana Spencer because she adopted me when I was a newbie and spent HOURS helping me learn the ropes.

Travis Lambert becuase he TRULY enjoys helping newcomers and goes all out to do so.
