I do believe you're adding and/or exchanging a couple of letters in the word "focal".
:p

Heh, yeah the rest of us are so banal, we certainly wouldn't understand any of your references unless it was pop culture. Give me a break.

Perhaps I didn’t use enough smiley faces for you.

If you reread, you may be able to puzzle out my apparently lame effort to poke fun at my own obscurities. I meant to say that I know very few popular - or even intelligible - quotes. I thought I got that across. Guess not.

But, given that you don’t know me, and that I was at *least* clearly not attacking you, why would you take it so personally? I was certainly not trying to make some sort of group accusation against whatever group you think you’re a member of. I was cracking a feeble joke with someone who poked a little joke at me. I can assure you that you, and yours, were nowhere near my thoughts.

You aren’t, by any chance, bringing some sort of assumption about me with you when you read what I write, are you? Is it the Leftist tag? My religion? My politics? My gender? My age? My vocabulary? My reputation? Or are you just grumpy today?

Frankly, if you bring your own meanings, sub-text, and backstory to what I write, then I’d prefer you simply don’t bother to read it. When you do that, it’s the worst sort of hijacking. I *try* to communicate what I want to say – I don’t write things so you can wring out my meanings and substitute your own worst-case scenario for what I meant.

So, here’s your break. I wasn’t implying that you’re banal. And I wasn’t implying that you wouldn’t understand me because I’m better educated than you. I was sharing that I have a rather small collection of memorized material in my head, and that most of it isn’t particularly useful for making humorous points.

Obviously.

Sorry. I have a limited education. I’ve memorized the Constitution, some of the Bible, a manual for the coffee maker, most of the TAO, three chapters from some Russian philosophy book by Michael Polyani, several 70s folk songs, half of the Ghostbusters movie, the complete run of Fawlty Towers, and several children’s books – especially the Patchwork Girl of Oz. There may be more, but it doesn’t come to mind right now.

I only have so many quotes available to me that anyone else would understand.

“Kizzle-kazzle-kore.
The wolf is at the door.
There’s nothing to eat
but a bone without meat
and a bill from the grocery store.”

You know I was just Jibbing cause the first thing that hit my mind was that scene in the mayors office where he quoted that...anyway wasnt nutin to it just playing cause today the boards are soooo slow and sooooo boring.

To comment on the question posed... If you are interested in a government made of a closed group of liberals with 1-2 token moderates thrown in for good measure and a leader who tosses out everyone who disagrees with her... then calls it a fair and balanced free society... and portrays it as a government that is not liberally leaning... then Neualtinburg is great.

No thanks.
