Maybe the UK is viewed by Hollywood as a mini America. If it goes over good in the UK, then flush it with cash and bring it the US.. Just a theory...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the UK is quite a bit more receptive to science fiction series. Farscape and Babylon 5 were much bigger hits there than they were here. Maybe they were testing the waters in the UK before bringing it here. _____________________

I can see Baltar getting old fast, but the one thing that keeps me from minding his conversations is that number six is so damn hot! Heh. I'm sitting over here thinking "Yawn. Yet another hollywood carbon copy blonde." Although she doesn't have the gigantic implants like most of them. Boomer is much more attractive, IMO, because she looks like a real person. |

hehe, I usually feel that way too Marcos. There's something about her thought that floats my boat. I think it has more to do with the way she performs her character than her looks. I completely agree about Boomer. I dig Starbuck too for that matter. Oh, and the president is quite lovely.
It's not a cast I'm going to mind watching every week._____________________

Dirk Benedict had a career? I thought he put a stop to that with The A Team. He did |

OK, just saw the season finale. It rocked!
Unfortunately, I can't say a single thing about it AT ALL without spoiling it. So I'll just shut up and let you enjoy the series. _____________________

Pet peeve #1 so far: Human-looking Cylons.
Pet peeve #2 so far: Writers, learn some very very very basic science. You can't go anywhere in the universe without stumbling over water. Heh... I don't pick on Star Trek over bad science very much, because the effort involved (that's a lot of nits to pick!) would probably give me an aneurysm. ![]() Oh damn it, I can't help myself. WTF was with the silicon-based virus in Enterprise? Um... there's not very much silicon in the human body for it to exploit, now is there? What, does it cause the victim to have overwhelming cravings to eat broken glass or something? ![]() _____________________

We don't know enough about other planetary systems to judge at this point since we can only detect gas giants around other stars. _____________________

Heck, pretty much every minor body in the outer solar system is water, not to mention the Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud. And I doubt our solar system is in any way exceptional. ![]() _____________________

what REALLY bothered me about the whole "water" situation is, WHAT???? They don't recycle their water??? WTF??? LOL How retarded!
Any my next question is, what are they using for fuel? If they are using H2 like in a lot of Scifi games I've played, then they should be able to fuel skim gas giants or even water/ice based planets for the elements they need. And doesn't Baltar have a chip in his head that's making him see Six? Here's a link to the fan club of the old series: http://battlestarfanclub.com/battlestar/index.html What else is weird is that the new BG is saying that the HUMANS created the Cylons... according to this: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/4590/cylon.html it was some lizardlike race created them and were eventually subsumed by their creations. What I wonder is if they are ever gonna encounter the Ovion Collective?? THAT would be cool! http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/4590/Ovion.html I had this figurine hahaa! http://www.toymania.com/334archives/battlestar/ovion.htm _____________________

I think there had to be something happen to the water recycling system... If you pay attention, at first they say "The Galactica's water recycling systems are very nearly 100% efficient, so we have plenty of water for years." Then after the tank explosion, and they lost like 60% of their water, they were down to days. It's also possible that the Galactica itself would still have water for years even with most of their water gone, but remember they are also having to supply like 46,000 other people with water, most of whom they said are on ships that were never designed with long-duration trips in mind... and, thus, probably have very inneficient or completely non-existant water recycling systems. |

Did anyone notice that the prison ship in last weeks episode was an almost exact copy of the prison barge from the old series?
