My dad always claims to be "Heinz 57" when it comes to ancestry, but there's a strong connexion on my mom's side. Taylor sept of Cameron here... straight from Invernie (so I'm told) to Minnesota by way of Alaska (hunting for gold in the cold).

I am more of Irish descent than Scottish, probably, since I know for sure I'm third generation Irish American on my dad's side. But my mom claims that her father's family (at least part of them) came from Glasgow. I seriously doubt I'm descended from any clan, I'm sure my forefathers were more the poor peasant type.
 My favorite traditional Scottish musical group is Old Blind Dogs, originally from Aberdeenshire, I believe (though they seem to have lost all but one of the founding members of the band, unfortunately). I've been lucky enough to have seen them perform twice in the US and once in Canada. I highly recommend catching one of their live shows if you get the chance, even if you're not a huge fan of folk or traditional Scottish music. Susie, your traditional Celtic music group sounds interesting! A SL ceilidh event would be fun. _____________________
