i'll concede that sl is just a game and always will be. so now i'm curious to know what it is we're all playing. the poll is loosely based on the leader boards because i assume those are the things that ll thinks are important to us in terms of game points. i have no idea what having the highest "score" means.
i forgot to add an other and can't figure out how to edit a poll. i suppose it wouldn't be fair for them to allow us to change a poll after people had started answering it. do please feel free to add your game description in a post though. well i see willow already has ha ha ha. you just have to love a person named willow and zander all at the same time. i suppose the message gets published while the poll's being assembled.

I don't play for any of the above...I play for fun, to meet ppl and to escape from my RL for a bit, I don't play to meet asshats and get fucktards shoving their opinions down my throat, but C'est La Vie isn't it I joined the game, and since doing so have found myself mutually in love with a very wonderful guy, I have met both in world and in real life, some wonderful people through SL and I am happy to have made some new friends. It would be nice to make money from the game, seen as I pay for a sim, but if I couldn't afford it I would stop doing it, I wouldn't rely on a game to pay for my stuff, as I am a tard and can't really do much anyways I think it ISN'T just a game, its a whole environment, but, then, it shouldn't be taken TOO seriously, as half the ppl you talk to/get wound up by, are people you would just pass by on the street and not give two hoots about. _____________________

I just stopped into this world to see what was going on. I was only supposed to be in SL for MAYBE a month then I was off to EQ2. I met someone very special and her friends so I ended up staying. Now I am hooked on shopping and chatting with Robin and all of our group. Sure, I am learning how to build and have an art gallery that produces a modest amount of $L but the reason I am really still here is because I love to be around Robin. None of that truely represents me, sadly. Most of those are lamer wang measuring contests. The amount of land someone ones is almost a joke to me, as money is the only deciding factor -- hell, same with having the most money! Contests and building are respectable... Rating is a joke.
My goal is to be awesome, be that entail building, scripting, being a different person(I consider it roleplaying) and just in general kicking ass. My goal is the win the Prize. |

I come to Sl to get away from RL problems for a while, relax, meet friends, hang out, chat and have some fun with them. That is all. I like to have enough money to buy things i like, I like to sell what little i made too. But i really don't care if i'm first or last in any of the games that some people like to play in Sl.

None of the above for me. I enjoy building most, but not to make it better than anyone elses but only to make it the best that I can make it. I also seeing my visions outside of my head and SL is the only place I can make that happen.
I enjoy meeting the people and most of all I enjoy seeing what people have created, it's like walking through an art gallery for me. _____________________

I don't play for any of the reasons mentioned above. Initially I played for the freedom to build what I want, when I want.. To build whatever my heart desires! Ok, I still play for that but my focus shifted a little to being social too. I'm quite sure all my friends in SL would answer the same. We are here to have fun!

I don't think many people do play for the reasons mentioned. Most people have been ignoring the 'high score table' since it became obvious that it was completely meaningless anyway. And lets face it, it's not a 'game' you can win, and a lot of folks don't even consider it a game at all.
Personally, I don't 'play' SL at all, I spend time in world. Sometimes when I'm there, I play, sometimes I work, sometimes I talk to or help people. It's all down to how you see it. _____________________
