WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

This thread is polarising into anger. Myside, yourside, myside, yourside.
It's proving the dynamic of war.
and it's also proving the dynamic of democratic peace. The right to speak out, without fear. Which way are we gonna swing this thread folks?
Getting angry means something important to you, and folks on this forum are all saying the same thing,People hurting other people, for any reason is wrong. But i'm gonna post-script myself. {THe} Minute we exempt ourselves from being guilty of war...{or blame the other guy, nation, East/West, religion, etc) we propagate it.
Things are being said now, that seem to be geared towards making folks angry, seeing whats important to whom. Well, that's the freedom and privilege in living in a society that believes in folks speaking their minds, without worrying about the goventment punishing them for saying what they feel. And...places like that exsist today in the world. It's not a fairy tale.
BUT....with freedom comes repsosnibility. I'll try to re-make my point. The diversity ont this forum is amazing. And part of the wealth Icon was talking about, is the gift of freedom of speech. Which, unfortuantely, has been bought with the price of lives. Icons right, we do take this gift, and it's cost for granted. Thats what yesterday was for.(Memorial Day for the USA. I think it's kewl that Isreal has theirs exactly BEFORE their Independance Day)
Just out of curiosity, has anyone lived through repression? Has ANyone here escaped poverty and fear? Anyone still in that situation now?
It'd be interesting to hear from someone who can say,"Yes I was there. This is what it felt like. " I'm not just talking the Middle East. I know we have folks who may have escaped Cuba, or Veitnam under Pol Pot, or Russia or East Germany....anyone out there from Uganda? or Belfast? Poland? I had a couple relaitves when I was younger who got taken away by the KGB for accepting black market US goods., from us.
BTW, my kid brother's doing fine. He got a case of pinworms from eating at a local resturant. He's in Afghanistan. So far the riots haven't bothered with the base where he's stayin and that the civilians aren't after the military folks. He says the Canadian Army has the best food, and really treats their soldiers well. He's managed to pick up a smattering of German & French, and being able to compare US military life with troops from all over the world has be a great experience for him. The Afghani soldiers are "cool" and brilliant soldiers. He's had some troubles, mortar attacks, mine fields, but so far so good. The Dairy Queen in town is a favorite hang out.
Well Peace and brownies folks..just thought I'd throw my two cents in before the update.
think I'll unsubscribe from this thread Vudu, nothing personal bro...

Unilateral diarmament didn't enter into the discussion until it was brought up by somebody dead-set on knocking it down.
But I guess when the opposition isn't obliging you with the targets you prefer, you can always bring along your own personal cardboard cutouts. It's always easier to confront an enemy that you made up yourself out of crayons, library paste and weird Rushisms.
And nobody will object, as long as you don't confuse your imaginary foes with real human beings.

From: Kiamat Dusk Wow. How could I have been so blind? It's so clear now that we must turn to the Middle East, the cradle of all the good in the world, for guidance. Let us do away with our outdated "democracy" and immediately adopt sharia law! Forget religious tolerance-Islam or Jihad!
Thanks, Icon, for proving my point.
-Kiamat Dusk I never spoke in such absolutes.. nor did I mention that we should turn anywhere. I merely reflected upon how much we take for granted in this wonderful god-send that is the "western civilization." That even those of us who haven't much in these countries, still have a hell of a lot more than over 60% of the rest of the world population. Freedom? I'd be surprised if anyone I've met knew how much that word means.

lol--I only weighed back in when you told me you'd posted here Yes, I'm far from ending my own impulse to war Fighting about the pros and cons of fighting is still fighting, and as such will only produce more battles. Like all briefly intoxicating experiences, it just ends up adding to confusion.
