UPDATE: Mass. makes peliminary constitution amendment changing it to ban gay marriage

Yeah, dog crap is an exaggeration for a description of socialism, I shouldn't say that. (Although with the other two associations I make no apologies.) It's funny actually, I used to be a big fan of socialism as it exists in parts of Europe, but I have a more realistic view now. I used to be what most would consider pretty liberal...

When I think about applying that type of system here, I have no optimism that it would work out. It's not a system "for" the United States in my opinion and my distaste for it is mostly drawn from my imagining what it would be like here.

But I hope expressing a distaste for socialism isn't something that makes non-Americans more anti-American. If it is, perhaps some need to learn to be a little less sensitive; I don't see myself getting upset because someone says they think capitalists are the devil.

Anyway, my referencing of "socialists" was only thinking about American socialists who want to implement that type of system here, I wasn't referring to European socialists at all. If Europeans like the system and it works fine for them, no problem.

History proves again and again that anything you want to kill will take on a life of its own with publicity. The religious right shot themselves in the foot by bringing up the idea of a constitutional amendment. The genie is out of the bottle. I don't see this issue going away after the general elections, regardless of who wins.

Three things some of which I mentioned before

#1 its all about money. Reread previous thread where I posted on why the gov't doesnt want to allow Gay marriages.

#2 The Religious Zelots that contrive the information from the "King James Version" of the bible have forgotten that the Vaticain has over 400 other works from 400 other profits that were not "Added" to the bible.

#3 Humanity will go with Gossip and Ridicule and Rumor before they really want to hear the truth about things So much arguing and so much debate breads the secular circle in which they run thier aruguments. Its a vicious cycle of tit for tat and no matter what is said pro-n-con no one really wants to hear the truth. Because, as my daddy used to say before he become a "Bible Thumper 7 notched deep in the Bible Belt", " The Truth hurts doesn't it?" I guess thats why he shys away when he and I get in to an argument biblical porportions. He knows about the other 400 works and he knows all that I have studied in the past. Because, he took me there he was the one showing me the information.

Does any of what I said have any relevance to modern society and the implications of what it means. Yes, because were all that information stored in the vast wearhouse of knowledge that we call the Vatican made public. Society would to a 180 in change. The reason a lot of these works were not put in the bible was because forthought of the concepts therin would totaly disrupt the society when the King James Version was produced.

Many back then were not literate therefore they relied on their priests and bishops to school them in the ways of god and church thus subjugating them to servitude under rule.

I am not gay I am strait but at the same time I do not feel that "GAY" which I prefere to say "LifestyleDifferent" persons should be subjugated to 1200AD tyranny based on a text that is incomplete and full of contrived contradictions.


Sorry I ran on with this but it amazes me sometimes the narrow mindedness of not one side but both sides of the fence at times.

Just remember Ignorance breads hate, Hate fuels debate with rumors and untruths thus causing the whole situation to get blown way out of hand.
