<3 <3
you can foist your drah-ma on me anytime vang... but then you already knew that. ![]() (aside: i don't know why people feel the need to follow up a heartfelt post with an advertisement, as relevant as the point about text communication vs anims, etc is, the follow-up ad was a bit too un-subtle)... what am i talking about? i do know why... i just don't like it. nah, interpretations of interactions like all else in life are subjective. To some people a spirited debate is "conflict"... to some a heavy discussion is drama. SL is a big place ... if they don't like the conversation, they should go elsewhere. Then again, maybe we should skip real conversations and just go back to running in circles with ari's fart gestures? ** insert advertisement here ** |

Its been my experience that some of the people who are the most vocal about "No Drama!" are in fact causing it themselves. They take on the role of martyr, crying about how much all the Drama hurts their feelings, is bad for SL, causes acne, or kills puppies. Its a passive-aggressive control issue, and the beauty of it is that if you call bullshit on it, you are labelled as "Causing Drama" and simply reinforce their tragic martyr status. Then you get triple negged by them and their alts, and they spend weeks talking about how much Drama you caused and how rightous they are to stand up to your horrible actions. Because, somehow, its not Drama if you are anti-Drama.
That being said, some proponents of the "No Drama" mantra are just nice normal people who come to SL to relax, and don't want to deal with the myriad forms of stupid crap that gets flung around on a regular basis. ![]() _____________________

I check out all profiles of those I meet and the ones that put in their profile, "no drama" are the ones I know to be leary of. I am all about drama. Love it, live it, cherish it, makes the world alot more interesting and a lot less boring. 1/2 cent worth there. _____________________

Can I just interrupt this thread to mention (dramatically) that Della Street is a great avatar name?

I think Michi summed it up best, but I'll add this anyway..
Taking every day drama and trying to turn it into Days of Our Lives plot-worthy Drama is the drama I mean when I say, No Drama. Meaningful conversaions aren't drama. One person using those conversations to talk smack about someone, spread rumors, degrade someone... that's the drama I'm not interested in. If you find your conversations often starting with, "OMG.. guess what.." "Don't tell so-and-so I told you, but.." "I love him/her to death, but..." "I heard from so-and-so that so-and-so.." then there's probably a good reason that people would warn you off drama. (That's the general 'you'.) _____________________

I don't understand or relate to a lot of this but it's fascinating to observe humans in their natively digital habitats and learn about anthropsych.

I shoulder much drama for my friends. I figgure I wouldn't be much of one if I wasn't there for them when they needed me. Occasinally if I think they're being too overdramatic and not in real need of an ear, I will drag out ye olde clue-by-four and take a couple whacks to let them know they're being rediculous. They know I mean well and that I will not abandon them, even if they are just being dramatic. *shrug*
