I don't post very often, and I'm relatively unknown to the vast majority of the SL world. I hate needless drama just like the next person does, I really do. Drama, in this sense, is more like... threatening to kill yourself over something, being obviously negative and attention seeking, telling people that they made you cry... etc etc. Needless.
But nowadays, I can't even have a decent conversation that may or may not be thought-provoking with someone screaming "NO DRAMA!" "Stop the drama!". I don't know... I thought that we were all people here with real lives, real feelings and real opinions on things. I am losing the definition of what drama really is. What am I supposed to talk about that isn't "dramatic"? About my... plot... in some snowy region and how it remains completely empty? I don't know.
I'm just a little confused and annoyed I guess.

Just about anything you type can be perceived as DRAMA by someone else. There's no tone to your typing, little emphasis on words except for capitals or punctuation of some sort. I think most of us have encountered situations where we were falsely accussed of being dramatic when that wasn't the intention at all.
Maybe using gestures more often would help get whatever point across that you're trying to make or just use for fun in everyday chitchat. Come by Acne Co or Mr. P's to enhance your sl experience and express yourself like never before inworld. We also make custom animations and gestures if there's something you specifically want.

happens alot evangeline.. generally way i look at it is people with the no drama sign (an there is a sign) are more or less jus opting themselves outta havin any meaningul or interesting conversation, which is fine for SL, theres clubs aplenty to keep them amused

i find the " no drama" thing ammusing. not all drama is Mary J Bliege type drama, if u follow me. Theres the drama people create, n then theres the natural day to day drama that life OR second life just hands us. but for those shoutin " no drama" if youve figured out a way to cut out all drama even the natural drama that we have no choice over, let me kno, id like to join u in what must be heaven.

I find it ironic, and chuckliingly amusing, that an avatar named after the tragic Longfellow heroine from Acadia is calling for an end to the drama.

All too often, "NO DRAMA" just means "NO DEPTH".
There's a line between depth and drama - Drama is shallow attention-whoring masquerading as deep or meaningful social exchange or commentary.
One is designed to look like the real thing. The other is the real thing.
So, on the surface, they both look the same. Those who engage often in shallow attention-mongering often confuse the real thing for what they, themselves, have been employing, as they can't fathom that someone else may actually have a depth of character that they, themselves, can only try to emulate.
Usually, though, those who do something that says "Look at MEEEE!" win out in the long run anyways. They have less stake in the outcome.

All Jesting and Humor of the forums aside. I find it rather visceral that people presume the depth of ones persona based on their in world avatar or “name”. I think in a rather anthropocentric sense that to surmise the actions of the inane with those of seemingly immeasurable depth is folly within itself. Those of the inane typically feign the illusion of shallow diatribe to amuse lacking outlets of pleasure. Those elite few conjure masses of followers that are lacking in the same mental stimulation. Thus, they have succeeded in their goals to mask their true inner selves. But should we judge them any less than the rest of us due to their dramatic masquerade. I think not as doing so lowers the intellect of those judging to the level of mere children following the Pied Piper. Then again yuppers there are some stupid people out in the world and they still should all wear signs… <<<Ends Drama Class 101>>> For more information don’t call shadow he is to stupid to have written this…LOL
