Bob,
That is built in. Everytime someone clicks on a bill/fruit a llRequestAgentData(newbieKey, DATA_BORN) is used to determine their age. Right now it is set so that a user must be 30 days or less to receive money.
I fixed this value as well as many of the other variables to maintain continuity from tree to tree. I think being a newbie in SL in confusing enough without having to second guess the settings on a money tree. I may break these out and make them configurable at a later date.

Sapphire, can you drop one into my inventory, and tonight when I'm on, I'll be happy to place it in Slate. Thanks!

Ok thanks to TinaStar's info, I was able to track all transactions made since I put up my money tree on 1/18th.
Since then the data shows i have given out 2692L to 84 people, making an average of 32L per person.
So far so good.
When looking at invidual amounts ppl recived, I am sure some are taking more than is fair. (most when i had the 1st version up)
There were nearly 10 ppl that made almost 200L in only 2 weeks.
The majoriy of the rest just took between 30-1L with a few exceptions.
My guess is if there was more to take when they were at the tree, they would have taken more. Why not?
So, since Sapphire had upgraded the new version to only allow one person to take 25L at a time, and while being on the last 5 recipent list, I figured that if I leave the tree up, and not give extra money to it, (so it only rezzes the $1L every 20 mins.) It would be impossible to be too greedy.
I decided that those who had recived 100L or more, had gotten lucky, and had enough, if they are less than 30 days old I decided to black list them, ( only 4 were)
Ok, I hope this info helps ppl =) if anyone wants to know who my top ten ppl were, IM in world and i'll share that info.

From: Khamon Fate tinastar i'm gonna track you down and rate you proper. how can something so useful and important be so hard to find. thank you thank you.. I'm glad to help. The fact that someone as talented and accomplished in Second Life as you didn't know this already Khamon, tells me that LL needs to find a better place for this or way for people to access it. Maybe make it a link inside the client, a button inside the account history window or something like that? Oh, and back on the topic of the thread. Waaay back when I was a newbie I got most everything I had from the kindness of older players giving out creations, sometimes money, all kinds of freebies, and most importantly their time. I tried to thank them all, but to any I missed - THANKS! You have no idea how far a little kindness can go to make someone's whole day in SL.

Tina, strangly enough, when i was looking for this info, I asked live help, clearly stating i was looking for something that showed to who my money was going, and how much.
A linden, (nameless) replyed and told me to look in account history. When i replyed that that only shows me what money is paid to me and by whom, they said, those are the tools we have now.
That was it, mmmmm interested a linden didn't know about this link.

There are some lindens that have been in SL (including their non-linden alts) for less time than like 75% of the total population. Ever help a linden find a script that you call them in for? It's funny. LF

Well. If you want you can hire to have someone sit at the tree and talk to n00bs, and then blast the offenders into their third life.

okay, here's the view on this from the eyes of a noob... (not that I'm much of a noob since i catch on quick having close to 30 years gaming experience starting with my old atari 2600) most noobs are actually embarassed at their noob status... and the fact that they don't have much of anything other than the few meager starting goodies you get and an extremely basic knowledge of the game and its workings means they are looking for anything they can get their hands on... finding a tree that you wonderful people put out to give a few lucky noobs the chance to "pick a winner" (so to speak) and get a handful of cash is an experience that gives them the thought "HOLY CRAP! free money! just what I need!"... but, if someone else is around, the embarassment takes over and they think "HOLY CRAP! someone is watching me take all this free money! I better bugger off it before they say something!" in my short time here, I have come upon these trees several times... sure, I've picked a few, but no more than 1 from a tree since I felt that pulling and pulling until I could pull no more made me greedy and I felt bad... trust me, although the tree picking noobs don't go out of their way to say thank you (since many probably have no clue how to IM someone who owns an item), they are actually very appreciative for the generosity of these people... so let me say thank you on behalf of myself and all the true newbies out there who have plucked the bills from your trees unfortunately, it's those people who happen to have the time in their schedules to create newbie accounts and run around to all these tree locations and pick them clean and then give all the cash to their main character... now that's just pathetic... oh ya, and as a noob, I have never worn wings (though I occasionally put a pair on now that have been enhanced for building and hovering at high altitudes) and my clothes do not come off (nor have they ever) for no reason at all... Also, I do not wear any club tags...
