Yep, I need to bite the bullet and somehow manage to install more memory. I want to be able to make use of putting words on prims when that comes in an update, which could be more or less relatively soon.

Knowing me, though, if I try, I will suddenly be unable to play SL at all or do much of anything else, either.

I can say from personal experience, having been at 256MB for a while - after I added more RAM (brought it up to 1GB), SL ran a LOT better on my PC... it was a very welcome upgrade. A lot of what I thought was lag went away.

Yea i'm running with 256mb aswell. And i can just notice when i move/turn to fast to a area i allready have downloaded, that my hd start to crack and churn to get all textures out of the cache. Wich slows my comp down to under 1fps.

I've run SALTs in MUSHes (up to 10 at once) and my RLSO wouldn't be caught dead only MUSHing with one character at a time.

However, on SL I only log on one account per day - dunno why the difference. I think maybe the addition of graphics make me closer to my AV that I would to a text-based character, and so I can't switch characters as quickly.

And yes, I know if I logged on my alt every day instead of every few days I'd get more traffic, but that's just nitpicking! :D

Hmmm.. a new theory. God is really just this dude with a massively multi-personality disorder.
I like it.
Its not a theory, Blaze. It's the nearest thing we have to a truth. The fact that something so childishly obvious is so hard to see, and feels so wrong, is itself a big clue. If it were true, would you be keen to let yourself realise it ? After all the trouble you went to to forget it, and to craft something totally convincing and apparently self-contained ?

Ahhh, well I'm not up on my theology, pardon me.

Still, the analogies are very interesting, between the concept of the christian god and someone who controls avatars in SL.

In someways, though, the analogies kinda point to a polytheistic universe, if you think about it.

Maybe there needs to be another mono-theistic religion which simply puts a god above all the other gods.

You know, like some big daddy which is simply is god of muslims, hindus, christians, japanese spirits, etc.

It could be like the completely open religion which is closed at the same time.

Occam's razor says the impossibility of consciousness only ocurred once. You, me, Him, Them. All one. Separateness and multiplicity a playful pretence. For which thank God ;-)

By the way - why mention Christianity first ? It has good points and bad points, but it's nothing special spiritually. An initial glimpse, partly comprehended/remembered, and then subsequently misunderstood, misinterpreted and perverted by the majority of its adherents, like all the rest.
