Well, a few of us got them while everyone was sitting around chatting between the two Town Hall meetings. But I don't feel right saying who it was just in case for some reason they don't want it on the boards. I know, I'm weird and it probably isn't a big deal.

I considered sharing how much but decided it has a direct inpact on the future owners of Omega Games and so had better not.

I got one too, and after my initial rush of excitement and crowing to my husband ("Quit yer bitchin' about SL, they're paying me some money!", a cold reality set in: This is not just a game anymore, there is real money involved. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that, but there is this little warning light flashing on and off in the back of my brain somewhere. Oh, wait, maybe that's my car's "change oil" light, I dunno...

I know the feeling you mean, but at the same time, I feel like it is still a "game". But it is also an "MMP online game". Any MMP online game has never been "just a game" to me. I detest that phrase by the way. The future of online gaming is also as of yet really unknown. However I do know that the mixture of RL and Game Life are ever evolving and entertwining along the way.

For me, any RL money I make in game, will be used by me to put back into the game. For me to be able to maintain the things I have, and to continue to do things that I hope benefit SL as a whole. And of course also for my own enjoyment. I think those that are building and creating the items that are so popular in the game, the items that in turn bring the creator a developer bonus, are most likely the same people that want so badly to see SL become the most incredible online experience it could possibly become.

Money does not have to equal disater and evil things for SL. I think it can actually be better than imagined.

Those of course are my own opinions.

Arnt any of you worried that the lindens might be paying you guys off to quiet you down?

I'm just worried I wont be able to make enough mile-high billboards to get that plasma tv I wanted.

Also, I'd check the bills to make sure they aren't sticky on both sides, with the instructions 'stick on face near mouth'.

Why would they want to quiet me down? I was always a supporter of v1.2, so that wouldn't make sense.

What it shows is that they are willing to reward people who make very popular places and/or things with real $. Since real $ now determines how much land you can own, this is a necessary step to allow for self sustaining projects.

If your project is popular enough then you can expand without any additional RL expense to you.

Maxx, have you considered for even a moment that we have a lot of concerns because we have so much invested? Not just in effort but in passion for SL. With all due respect... oh wait, you haven't earned mine yet. Never mind.
