Is there any reason why a group of Mentors couldn't patrol the WA, maybe 3 or 4 at a time, and collectively abuse report anyone, without favour, that is misbehaving? A simple IM to any on-line Linden to tell them who is on patrol should be enough. This is not a vigilante group, the Mentors are supposed to be trusted and respected users in the eyes of the Lindens.
Thoughts?

As I stated in this thread, /120/e8/36932/1.html, which I started a while back, I avoid the WA's because they have been turned into a haven for pre-pubescent idiots shooting at people, people trying to recruit new players (which personally infuriates me), employ profanity, or they talk about subjects that are not conducive to making a new player feel comfortable. Then there are the ones who like to endlessly blare sound clips as if they just discovered that they could... I don't really know what rebuilding it will do, if there is still going to be very little LL presence in the new WA.

Thinking about it, there should also always be a Linden at the WA, because it is the WA. Its the first place you arrive officialy in SL. Its the same reason Wall-Mart has greeters, nice resteraunts have hosts at the door, because they want you to have a good first impression of the place.
So not only should there be a Linden at the WA at all times possible for cleaning the crap up, but also to be a nice and social greeter to give a good first impression of SL.

From: Anjelle Lumiere Heh... remember that the "Wow Factor" is on a WAY different level for a newbie than it is for us. Upon first entering, the WOW factor could just be seeing someone wearing heels or curly hair or a cat tail or a tiny sparkle thing on their hand or sword or... basically anything that we did not see a way to do when we went through the customization process of our own avatar in the orientation. The key is to keep it at a Wow Factor without getting remotely close to the WTF Factor. Yep it sure was for a simple chap like myself, when I joined a few months ago. Seeing custom skins and fun avies never put me off.The self righteous looking down on us from their lonely peaks with smirks on their faces would never understand it. They scream 'hotchie hair', 'particle lag' and other nonsense, forgeting what it was like to be new. Going clubbing anyone?
