Maerl:

"there is a terrible white "shine" to them" hit the checkbox so that the new avatar Vertex drawing is on. The Cat 3.8 drivers are what's causing the shine. (If I'm wrong about this, let me know).
The music problem is being addressed.
Clothing not fitting has yet to happen to me, very interesting but should be fixed rather easily as soon as we get the updated UV maps. Although I would also like to see if clothing fits better when you turn that Vertex avatar thing on.
The reason your taxes are steadily rising is the same reason they started out so low. Taxes are now cumulative every day. This creates an average tax for the Tuesday tax-day (if you read the 1.1 changes OR the "new economy" changes for 1.1, then you know this already). In other words, 1/7th of your total taxes are added every day until Tuesday hits and you pay up. So if you had 7,000 bucks worth of taxes on friday, then only 700 bucks worth of taxes on saturday, that would be 1,000 bucks of taxes added onto your total on friday and then 100 bucks of taxes added onto your total saturday (thus creating the average effect).

Hope you understand now :D

Give the Lindens some time...

Maybe it's my lowered standards from too much MMOGing, but I think we owe it to the Lindens to give them some time to correct these issues. 1.1 seems like it was a pretty ambitious change, and anything like this in a multiplayer online experience is going to have some significant bugs. It's annoying at times (though the uhm, crotch thing is kind of funny in a way, but I do feel uncomfortable wearing skirts with nothing down there!)

Anyway, this is still a great game/service and I hope the Linden team will react quickly. That's it.

It could also be that you don't earn 600-1000 a day dancing as your primary source of income in the SL world :p

In 1.0, i *never* had the game crash me to desktop and I relogged maybe twice in a day. Now i crash to desktop 2-4 times and relogged 10 times yesterday to correct bugs; just crossing freelorn required 3 restarts of the program.

And considering that i pay for to play, I *owe* the Lindens nothing, except courteous in my comments and respect in my dealings with them - the same thing I give to any person(s) I deal with.

I love this game, and I'm not going anywhere fast, especially not to "There".

And since you recognize that 1.1 *is* an ambitious change then perhaps there should have been less of a rush to it, or a longer test period with the preview. For me, an action such as this would probably have enhanced everyone's playing experience instead of creating a problems for what could very well be a majority of players.

Anywho. I love SL, I love Linden Labs for giving us this experience, and I am patiently awaiting the fixes to come.

www.there.com is what "lowering standards" is for.

then maybe the lindens owe me my monthly charge every month till my experience is back to the level it was when i first joined.....lets see....as of now
1. video is screwed...lindens fix..reload drivers...yah
2.sound is screwed...just play wav file u had before the 1.1 update and youll see what i mean
3. account history is screwed...one day my taxes are negative..the next twice what ive ever owed....
4. and today..i log on to find the animation script i used in many of my objects doesnt work...its totally F****d...so the Sand BAr beach area is no more....i cant see building and putting pride into a program that continually is letting me and fellow players down..whats it now 4 updates since 1.1..and each day its worse...its not right to PAY FOR AGGRAVATION like this... im sure not everyone is having problems to this extent..BUT MANY ARE....as of today i know 10 people in game that are ready to leave... and many more that are on the verge...1.1 was rushed...and no information was given to the extent of the problems that the paying public would encounter...im so disillusioned in SL...before 1.1 i was a true fan...now i doubt ill ever get that back..so to my many friends in world...this may be my last week here...i just cant see paying for something that makes my 1st life look good.
But i am going to wait a bit to see what happen's... i do think SL is a wonderful program...or was.
I have been here since the day after beta ended, and never thought id leave...but i just dont see the sense in paying for a faulty program that doesnt live up to its true ability:mad:

Have yet to check the technical forums to see if you posted , but what type of machine do you have? Maybe someone here can help you out in diagnosing and fixing your problem with video if the drivers didn't help.

Seems to be a lot of ppl on here that are willing to come up with some pretty creative solutions from what I remember reading. I'm not having any video card problems nor really any type of major issues in world since the 1.1. A few minor sound issues , and an issue with my account history , possibly just the way I'm reading it, could be user error hehe.

You stated 10 people in the game are having problems and are ready to leave. Have they posted in the technical forums or done anything to help resolve the problem? Could help possibly narrow down any type of driver issues or hardware problems if they posted what they are using. Possibly brands of video/sound cards , driver versions , etc .. maybe help linden labs with troubleshooting.

Not trying to aggravate you further Maerl. Just think the forums could be used for a more constructive solution to some of your problems.

Briana-

Re: your crashes. This is most often caused by older AGP drivers on the motherboard. As always, we recommend upgrading your motherboard drivers to the latest revision as this often stops a lot of the crashes.

You will need to get the exact make and model of your motherboard and goto the motherboard manufacturers website to get the latest and greatest. If you bought from a mainstream manufacturer, very often their website will have the latest "approved" drivers which should help. If you have a laptop, _always_ goto the laptop manufacturer to get latest drivers.

When updating motherboard drivers, you should always follow the directions to the letter, and/or get someone who knows what they are doing to help you. Very bad things can happen if this is done wrong (it's not complicated, but needs to be done correctly.)

Maerl:

1. Video: Update AGP drivers, update drivers for your card. I know that's the "party line," but it's true. You might also try lowering your draw distance to help things out.

2. Audio. As I've said in previous posts and was quoted here, and as Cory mentioned; We know about it and are working to resolve it.

3. Tax Assessments. We've posted about this but the in game estimator is broken at the moment, It's reporting high thanks to a couple of reasons. However, this bug will have _no_ effect when the assessor runs tomorrow night. What it ultimately is is very inconvenient for you and everyone else who is playing the account balancing game to maximize your stipend and minimize your taxes. We hope to have this fixed very soon.

4. Animations. If they worked in 1.1.2 and didn't in 1.1.3, then please, report a bug. Especially if you know the scripting call that's broken. The more detail you give us on bug reports, the quicker we can understand issues and it helps our turnaround on fixing things.

Thanks for your patience.

Colin,

Care to rephrase your former response? It looks like the tax assessor is as FUBAR as the game estimator :)

Bone-

Actually what's going on with the tax assessor has nothing to do with the estimator. Now, with my statement last night I had all assurances that things were going to go smoothly hence why I posted what I did.

With that said, there do appear to be some issues with the assessor and stipends from last night. What we know for sure is people's stipend bonus went down quite a lot. What we are looking at is the why's and wherefore's of what occured. Once we understand the issue, we'll get back to everyone with what we're going to do about it!
