It brings a tear of joy to my eye to see other people listing Soul Coughing. I've often wondered why this band didn't get more attention. Good lyrics, funky music, variety and a style all their own.

One of my saddest days was requesting Super Bon Bon from a DJ and having her play Shake Yer Bon Bon (or whatever that stupid song was) instead, and listing my name as the requestor! Oh, the shame. I still haven't lived that one down.

politcal singles of alltime:
"free saptal ram" by asian dub foundation.
for those who dont know he was a asian waiter im the UK who (in the thatcher era) snapped when a group of drunken curry-and-leager youths taunted, threatened and abused him (they threw chairs at him and told him he was a dead man). he snapped, killed one and ended up doing >15yrs for murder for an obvious self-defence case - this was recorded when he was still in prison.
"homophobia" by chumbawumba.
"battle of the beanfield" the levellers - if you dont believe this was an outrage, look for filmed footage on the net... last but not least....
a single dedicated to thatcher, with twee music and vitriolic lyrics (current cos of reagan's death cos of his alliance with thatcher)
"tramp the dirt down" by elvis costello
ending lyric "'Cos when they finally put you in the ground
They'll stand there laughing and tramp the dirt down"
[no need to flame me lol]

interpersonal-raltionship singles :oP
the only ones "another girl, another planet"
skunk anansie "weak"
madonna "power of goodbye"

....more optimistically :)

Eagles - Live

Norah Jones - Come Away with me

Bad Company - 10 from 6

John Lee Hooker - Chill out

Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits

Really hard to narrow it down to 5, I cut out all my techno, heavy/Death Metal as well as the classical, which was a hard call.
