Should anyone have to be at work December 24th? I think not. Course I also would like to have a 3 day work week and free beer at lunch time.

Anyone else having to trudge in to jerky worky tomorrow?

Whole day.

My life both blows and sucks at the same time. Not many things can do that.

lol Ingrid...don't even talk to me about working holidays...lemme show you my schedulde:

First, take an ample amount of night shift, say....4 parts per week.

Then, mix in some Thanksgiving...Thursday and Friday should do the trick...

Next, find yourself a good dose of Christmas...23, 24, 25 (12 hours on 25)...make sure you include enough...don't want to miss out on that xmas flavor.

Garnish with New Years and sprinkle with New Years Eve...it's the perfect ass holiday concauction.

meh....maybe I'll get my birthday off....

That truly sucks. I feel alot better about my situation now that I see yours is far worse. That's what the Christmas season is all about... Feeling good about yourself when others are worse off than you. You're a pal Pete.

I may be one of the few people in the Western world who thinks that the day before holidays is still a workday for which you are being paid to work.

If you want it off, take a sick day or a vacation day.

Otherwise, why should an employer pay you? To party? To be home?

The heck with the concept of "tradition" or "it would be nice if..." This is a business perspective. It has nothing to do wih religious tradition or recent expectations of entitlement that seem to be running rampant.

That being said, while in the military, I routinely ASKED to have the day off - so that I could then turn around and negotiate with those who didn't want to work that day/the holiday itself for big bucks. Over the two decades of military service, I actually had 2 Xmas days assigned work but worked all but 1. In that same period I probably earned over 3 grand by taking other people's duties. Holiday work has been 'berry 'berry good to me. Notably working the system, I can say that I didn't really have much to do on those work days as others seemed to think that we should be "at work"/working - so my supervisors usually had light or no work scheduled to actually be performed those days and we essentially sat around doing nothing/playing cards/having an "at work" party. Ah, to be able to make such money for so little effort again.

Sorry if I have no sympathy for those who are working tomorrow OR on New Year's Eve. No.. I am really not... but I said it anyway.

I only get paid if I work. That being said, if I have something to work on that can be done at home, like database entry stuff, I can work from my house. So...I will not be going to work tomorrow, but I will be working. Somewhat. :D

I already opened my presents and all I got was a rock. Then again, it's gonna be useful when I throw it through someone else's window...perhaps yours? :p

I cursed at you in the forums? The SL forums? The only cursing that I can remember is that somebody logged into the sluniverse forum as "pandastrong" and called you a douchebag. Is that what you are talking about? If you didn't see it, I can get you a link. It's a great read! :D
