I'd have to say "Small Gods" is probably one of Pratchett's most comedic volume. I know others come close, but a small turtle shouting at people just makes me laugh.

heh glad yer not totally goin bonkers james... yer encouraging me to go sit through a buildin class really sorta helped me appreciate SL alot more'n i was in the early part of my trial period and i'm so glad for that *hee* ^.^

I was all depressed because I ran out of Larry Niven books to read. There's enough Discworld books to last me a long time. yay!

Try and get hold of 'Good Omens', written by TP & Neil Gaiman. Hysterically funny - I was in tears several times.

I like you people's tastes. "Good Omens" IS a very good book, funny AND a thinker. "Small Gods" is the Diskworld book I usually recommend as the best book in the series, even though it's not bout any of the "core" characters. It too is a humorous thinker. And this thread started as a rant about rants (or was it a complaint about complaints, I'm not sure).....
