I sense a *bit* of skeptisism here.... and all i gotta say is that dwell will be put here to bring our community closer together. It's not even here yet, and look how tight we've become just discussing it I'm in favor of it... and honestly, the only land I own is in Coney and Gibson (only one being directly influenced by dwell due to rules of keeping the property). The way I see it, is that Linden Lab is not going to Penalize you for people not dwelling on your land.... but they are going to reward you with people who do dwell on your land. So they are trying to introduce another incentive program.... that probably has an impact to your overall income about as much as the voting stations had... but with a little more work involved. In fact, getting rid of voting-parties with this system... and really, a dwell group would still have to dwell on the property -- but I don't see it really becoming a major issue. Group A will go and chill on Group B's lot while Group B chills on Group A's. It's still social-interaction however you want to look at it.... and I'm completely down with that. So to not sound repetative and tedius -- go up a couple posts and read what Ama said. I Completely agree with it. --Water.

I just worry that people will feel they have to stay home to get people to visit them and help their bonus. Money is a big concern to many, especially new players. I see dwell becoming used as a source of income rather than a bonus.
People will stay on their land and beg others to come hang out with them. They wont want to explore because they will lose the chance to entertain people on their land.
Dwell is the main incentive in TSO. The owners of the highest ranked houses were always home, they never explore because they have to stay home and host others. I just hate to see that happen here in SL.
I love to see change, I hope dwell works out. I just hope its reward is small enough to not make it a priority in the minds of the financially desperate.

How does this (dwell) work out for apartment building owners/renters? Pretty weird I imagine.

Well it appears that we have a pretty good debate on this..although it sounds like it is coming to a sim near you no matter. So i guess we will just have to wait and see how it works out.....but I have to agree with the builders like Lordfly and their concerns that they may be squeezed out of the economic equation and at first glance I do not like the idea but I am willing to see how it pans out........We need all our talents in Sl ...and we can't afford to lose any because of shifts in the economic system. The builders like the scripters and the clothiers and the socializers each make Sl the unique and fascinating place it is...and I am sure the Lindens know this as well and will not allow one group to be eliminated or adversely affected..(Plus I have faith that with all the creative minds here someone will figure out a way to game this as well..and if so please let a cool builder you know in on it)...So if it rolls out and things dont seem to work ...the Lindens have shown great flexibilty and will tweak it some more......So Let's just see how it goes.....and hope somehow it works fairly for all our us.

I'm a scripter and I don't like dwell. I can care less about rewards. I just don't want it to make people think they should be sitting at their land all day to attract dwellers.
