Ah, ye old perennial "noob asks a hot topic post". *sniffs, holding back tears* it makes me feel more like an oldbie and less like a newbie.

You are so precious, newbie. So so precious. Like newborn baby.

Keep thinking these precious thoughts.

*coughs*

Okay, I'm being a total ninny in this post. I'll shut it!

I don't pay a susbscription fee to have some other player be entitled to tell me what to do!

We have a rudimentary government standing. It's called common sense/courtesy. If one wishes to trod all over these, then I say throw 'em to the wolves. No apology forthcoming.

Here here!

*cheers* My sentiments exactly, i think its the end of the discussion really. Opt-in to a government run land if thats your thing, but not for all of SL.

You know what I did last night?

I logged into There.com for the first time in ages and had tons of FUN. I rode my buggy around, flew about the islands for a bit, then logged off.

Now why couldn't I just do that in Second Life?

Dunno, J? I do that every day in SL. If it stopped being fun, I wouldn't come. That'd just be stupid.

Is that the sum total of Second Life? Are we all here just to make money!

*looks around* uh, yup. Seems that way for most! What did you expect, when it became possible to change toy money for real money? Blame da GOM! I do!

From: someone
How can we bring the fun back into Second Life?

Stop reading the forums? Ignore all the bickering and whining and fighting and go actually experience Second Life for yourself instead of reading how much everyone else hates everything about it (and yet still they pay their money! must be some form of self punishment :))

Oh, and if your avatar behaves like that everywhere in SL, I'd suggest it's your setup more than anything.

At the risk of asking the obvious, if you don't have fun in SL but have fun in There, why aren't you There instead of Here?
