Perhaps one thing we can all agree on is that Brace is allowed to post to the forums whenever she wants.

No one should be allowed to post on these forums except for me and my half-dozen alts I pit against each other for entertainment. It's like guerilla theatre, only in the forum. Usually I start off with my Nolan (or similar) alt saying something that my Prokofy alt disagrees with. My Prokofy alt vehemently disagrees but raises the stakes of the drama by making it a personal crusade. Then my Weedy and my Ulrika alts jump in at some point as voices of reason to raise counterpoints. Occasionally I'll even throw in a few bit parts like "Minutemen" to ruffle some feathers.
This is a secret that newbs won't know because they probably won't read this post, but those of you that do-- if you see any of these alts of mine going at it, just invoke the "Rule of Chance" and stay out of the crossfire. It's all just a big, clever lie. Just sit back and enjoy the show. ![]() _____________________

Oh, and you have no idea who all my alts are so maybe it's just better to not post during any dramatic performances. Who are you to stand in the way of high art?

I'm too busy trying to figure out who I am to worry much about anybody else's credentials or lack thereof.
But I have no RIGHT to post here. I thank our gracious hosts for the PRIVILEGE. |

Yeah.. I tend to agree.
I also think people should stop thinking that they are the sole reason SL has been around for so long. I've heard it a billion times, "I've contributed way more to SL than you could ever imagine" -- I think such a statement requires a humbling response. And I've responded as such to said statements. _____________________

Actually, there are some people with no right to post here.

Suspension of forum posting priveleges is part of the Disclipline section of the Forum Guidelines:
# Formal warning: If the offense is severe enough or an informal warning has already been issued, Linden Lab may issue a formal warning. The formal warning becomes a permanent part of the poster’s record. Several warnings can result in a permanent ban. Linden Lab may also choose to temporarily suspend the poster from the forums for 2-7 days, depending on the severity of the offense. # Suspension: A suspension is the temporary deactivation of a violator’s posting privileges from the Second Life Forums. Multiple suspensions might also result in a suspension of the individual from the Second Life world. # Ban: A ban is the permanent deactivation of the violator’s account with the Second Life Forum. Under certain circumstances, Linden Lab may also ban the account from Second Life. Linden Lab applies a ban in response to very severe offenses and/or consistent display of unwillingness to follow forum rules. Fortunately, these incidents are not the norm and we look forward to the forums remaining a positive part of the SL experience. So there are actually may be people who have no right to post in the forums, as determined by the forum owners for repeated violations of forum posting rules. This of course has no real bearing on the thread topic. It is worth noticing though that repeated violations of forum posting rules can result not only in forum banning but in closing the Second Life account altogether. _____________________

I have multiple accounts. It always strikes me a funny (in an annoying sort of way) when some snotty arrogant type that's been around a while tells me somehing about how my opinion is worthless because of the join date of amy alternate account, especially if they are reading the join date in the forums , which I believe is not necessarily the same as the join date for the inworld account. They have this attitude of superiority, yet make the foolish error of thinking they know how long a person has been a member of SL based on the start dates of a particular account.

Oh that has nothing to do with anything. I just think if you get suspended or banned it should apply to all your accounts. After all you (generic) earned it, regardless of what "name" you did it under. I couldn't care less what your join date is or if you have 23 alts all named variations of "Susan." _____________________

John Locke said something about my being endowed by my creator with certain inalienable rights, among them the right to post here, if I recall correctly.

John Locke said something about my being endowed by my creator with certain inalienable rights, among them the right to post here, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, Adam Smith bought the rights to Locke's writings and had the "message board" passage removed. Jefferson objected, but was too distracted by media coverage of his love life to be effective. It sailed through the Continental Congress as a rider to an appropriations bill. Now your rights on a message board take effect only if you happen to own the board. Who says history isn't fun? |

Ah, but then Jesus Christ and his second iteration, Karl Marx, showed us the way to love ourselves, love each other, and put sacrifice to the people above all other things. And how to opiate the online masses while we're at it. Who says history, politics, and religion ain't fun? |

And how to opiate the online masses while we're at it. Who says history, politics, and religion ain't fun? That's why I'm proud to call myself a citizen of a capitialist society...you don't have to love anyone, you just walk around bitter as hell that 1% of the population control 95% of the wealth. IMO, after history, politics, religon and sex, what more do you need? ![]() |
