You discredit yourself here by not using technical terms and qualifying your statements IE:

"really high" "Not SL only" "boob size".

You also address "horny men" which is not really a target audience for a research paper, but is just fine if you are trying to piss people off. ah, and they do talk (mostly out their backside) in RL too, as that's my cup size and I have experienced it firsthand People make all sorts of incorrect assumptions about women with big breasts, and that's part of why I have spoken in this thread. We are people and we exist in real life too!! And its none of the OP's damn business how big (or not) breasts are on my bodyshape in SL. It's that size for a reason and my shape is to please ME, not other people.

I like all sorts of bodyshapes and appreciate small breasts too - I just dont have them, that's all. Variety is the spice of life, anyway.

If we're happy with them, that's all that matters. If the body shape seems to support that size, I don't see what the problem is. Nobody has "talked" about my breast slider being at 75, or "talked" about my hourglass corset shapes for the Victorian corset dresses I regularly wear in Caledon - I get complimented fairly frequently on my avatar shape actually - especially the face as its as close to me as I can get with an avatar in SL with sliders (now if I was able to upload morph targets it'd get even closer hehe) My avatar fits the outfits I wear and the theme I enjoy, nothing looks out of place at all.

Nobody has said that to me. Some of my female friends are actually shorter than me in SL - they think the same as me about the ridiculous 7 foot tall amazons with disproportionate legs and noses so small its a wonder they can breath,, and they aren't ageplayers either. I think this is your reality tunnel, and its not connected to life as I've seen it in SL.

On a side note, I also like to build my house to fit a normal height, and my best friend in SL (male) has an avatar that measures very close to his RL height too. (just over six foot tall). So we all look just right together, we're just shorter than you maybe

I think my slider is at like 35-40, I personally can't stand big avvie boobs, they are so unnatural looking. In fact, my avvie is quite natural looking (except last night I got a dye job to purple from my normal dark brown).

I actually found ALOT of avvies when I first started that had huge boobs and butt (creepily unproportionate), with ZERO fat, they were walking on sticks and bleach blonde white. I am blonde IRL and I tried to make my avvie like me a bit, but I didn't want to look like every other SL av out there so I went for dark blonde, semi flat tush and smaller boobs. Besides the clothes look better on smaller sized tatties anyways!

Someone else wrote about the smaller breasts and correct proportions being hard to dial in, and that's true, I've made a petite bodyshape with smaller breasts (because I like to make shapes, even if its not my own) and experienced the difficulties with that. It's true, and I feel for you.

I do 3d art in real life so maybe I am just attuned to these proportional errors more than other people. I simply like to make avatars that could pass for real people as much as possible, that dont look weird when sitting on furniture, etc, its part of my hobby what can I say

Just some definitions

Research: Studying a particular subject or statistic with rigorous documentation and statistical or descriptive results

Observation: watching and being around a certain subject or type

From what it sounds like, you've got 5 years of Observation. Have you recorded anything or taken any sort of statistics or observational journals? If not then it's just you being around and maybe watching. Either show some data to support your suspiciously clean numbers of "60% and 40%" (since 5 years of documented and recorded research combined into a statistical representation of percentages would very very unlikely end up being such a clean 60% and 40%, it'd be more like 65.2% etc.) or stop using the word "research".

That and those numbers don't really pertain to SL as this is in many ways and forms a "life simulator" and not a "game"

Most guys in gal av's in other games will flat up tell you and make some "looking at femalre rear end better than male" thing up on the spot. Here if it is a guy in a gal av (and yeah I've found a few) it usually has another issue rooted to it entirely.

They all look like they are all on steroids. Most of my most favorite guy avs are relatively skinny compared to all these muscle heads with cinched waists, no neck, small face and barely any legs!

I am about to start making male shapes and give them away if it will make SL guys look better!

Oh god yes, pinheads, add that one to my list of peeves! Too tall, too long legs, and a head that would in RL qualify for a birth defect.

anyway, its actually something that makes me sad - its really hard to do right proportion if you aren't trained to spot errors like that and its not restricted to SL at all, its a common problem. I see the pinhead problem a lot in 3d art - many of the Poser figures are famous for that actually. (Victoria and Michael from DAZ) And I like DAZ stuff dont get me wrong, but I always have to correct their heads because it seriously freaks me out

they remind my of shrunken head cartoons and I always imagine them having a helium high pitched whiney voice. *shudders*

I play the game for more than just cyber sex. The problem I ran into is, when I started my character..I used the Nightclub Male shape and it put me into that range. Just never have ever really slimmed down yet. I get alot of compliments on the way I look, but maybe they were just being nice. I will have to rethink my AV shape when I get back in (if we do).

I agree I've seen some yucky looking guys in SL.

Over looking body shape the next worse thing I hate is newb hair and skin on people.

Ok as a afterthought on this..why don't some of the women in this thread tell us what they would like to see the men in SL look like. Give us some ideas on how to be more creative with our AV look. Help us to look how you would like us to look.
