No..you are full of shit. Compare Clinton's 8 years to Reagan's, and Both Bushes.
or Nixon's, or Kennedy's, or Eisenhower's, or Truman's --shall I fucking go on.

No president has had a peaceful presidency since Roosevelt's first term and he only had to deal with the Depression. I never said anyone was better, but you can't say it was peaceful, if you do your lying to yourself.

Then we agree. Bush must be impeached.

I guess my point is Kendra, how tyranical is he when the rest of the governement has power to stop his policies but not the political will?

If you were arguing to impeach most of the US government, Might make more sense. Saying its a colusion of interests in the status quo reguardless of corruption.

I think this "War" by non declaration that grew out fo the Cold War , and the willingness to encroach on people's rights , are serious constitutional issues. But removing Bush isnt going to fix any of them. Becuase any replacement isnt going to have any interest in real reforms anyhow.

It seems most people want to impeach Bush becuase a they dont like him. (some have other reasons of course)

A lot of people wanted to impeach Clinton becuase they didnt like him. (some had other reasons)

Im all for voting the opposition into congress this year and would love it if they had enough seats to make Bush back down on a lot of his policies.

Would also Like them to pressure him to be able to manage an Iraq agreement that ends our occupation as soon as can be responsibly arrainged.

I want him Impeached because he's a treasonous lawbreaker that takes a daily shit on the Constitution.

I think you're probably not all that qualified to teach history.

ehh every one has their own opinions but just because I'm not a socialist I am not qualified? Please grow up, resorting to questioning my credentials is just childish. If you don't like the fact that Clinton's presidency wasn't peaceful you don't have to attack my career like that, and your forgetting I voted for him in both elections.

You're not qualified because nothing you say indicates to me that you even have a fundamental grasp of history.

:::shrug::: If you don't think that Clinton's Presidency was one of both peace and prosperity then yeah --you have zero historical context. I weep for your students.

I actually said it was a time of prosperity, never denied that. However you can't say it was peaceful that would be false, there were 2 major military campaigns during his presidency, I can't call that peaceful. You ever see "Black Hawk Down"? you can say relatively peaceful with some accuracy but entirely peaceful, no that would be wrong. If you can't understand that, I'm sorry for you.

ok I'll let that slide this once :p however you have to admit Clinton's time in office wasn't peaceful for a number of reasons some not of his making others of his own doing. Kosovo is just a very prominent example, at least to me.

Of course I was out there protesting US involvement in Kosovo when it was occuring --but come on -- Clinton's Presidency was one of Peace relative to other's since FDR.

Stating otherwise is disingenuous of you.

I have said that no president since FDR has had a peaceful presidency, but sorry I am appalled when people say he had a peaceful presidency when he sent me to war but yes he and Carter have had the most peaceful presidencies since WW2.

hmmm no I still think small slice.
Another huge aspect to gettign elected is party affiliation - And that parties endorsement (tacit and behind the scenes) of said candidate.
In my opinion you are not jaded enough about the political process as it has come to exist in America =p.

*chuckles* I've worked on campaigns and been involved in Party politics off-and-on for about 20 years so I know the role Party affiliation can play, and the rigor of the veting process of endorsement changes with times. I think we're probably just jaded in different ways about different things.
