It would be hard for anyone, man or woman, to marry Kevn. Especially men, obviously.

Unless you're into that whole 1950's sitcom separate beds thing.

How are you dealing with the total collapse of society that was caused by legalizing gay marriage?

(Which the opponents of gay marriage over here tell us will happen instantly upon legalization.)

We had to pick up the pieces of our shattered lives and...hey wait a minute! Society is just fine. Believe it or not, the sky didn't fall down.

By the way, after one or two of the more intolerant comments I've just read from a couple of posters, I think I might start flaunting my sexuality a lot more. If I'm going to be accused of it I might as well live up to the stereotype.

Gang bang anyone?

Does Kevn make anyone else think of the Newgrounds.com video "Smile"?

Well yeah, gay marriage would certainly be nice... But I seriously don't see how gay people should get married. What is there to prove?

If the bible must be brought into this, Bring it in the way that it says Marriage is for children, right. Not Love. You can't prove anything by getting married.

Obviously, gay people can't have children unless they adopt, so why get married?

A LOT of people believe marriage "Proves Love and the Willingness to stay together forever."

Well, in one word. No.

Marriage certainly doesn't prove that. In fact, you'd probably prove your love better by not getting married. Once married people generally think they don't have to try anymore, they don't have to be romantic, they can sit back and have their partner forever. Again, No. You still have to keep the relationship going and you still need to love each other. Getting married, I think, throws love out the window.

Marriage is a stupid piece of paper that nobody really NEEDS. You don't need Marriage to love somebody, in the same way you don't need love to get married.

I just think marriage, for both homosexual and heterosexual people, is stupid and certainly not needed.

In a sumup of my opinion, If you feel the need to get married to "prove" your love for somebody, you obviously don't love them as much as you think. Marriage is an excuse, not a solvant.

They're not out to prove anything, they just want the same rights everyone else has.

Sure they can. Ever heard of invitro fertilization? Surrogate mothers? etc. Besides it's easier to adopt if you're married rather than single.

What a horribly sad thought. Possibly true in some cases but certainly not all. Not all married people are romantically dead, believe it or not there are some married couples who still get busy on the kitchen table and hold hands in public.

No but you do need that stupid peice of paper to share custody of children, to own property together, to have a say in any medical treatment your partner may need when they are unable to speak for themselves, to be able to put your partner on your medical insurance in most places... etc etc.

Then don't get married, but would you deny others the right to?

Remove the government from the equation. Allow whatever churches/civil organization to choose who they'll marry. Allow people to decide who gets to see them in the hospital, who gets what from their estate, etc via wills and living wills and voila-the problem evaporates.

You can only change yourself, and I believe people have a right to express love, regardless of gender. But I would point out that same sex couples are doing the 'gay marriage' issue no favors by tongue kissing each other in a public setting.

Remember, even a straight couple frenching in front of people would be told to "Get a room!" This isn't about gays shouldn't kiss. It's about social etiquette. And, frankly, a lot of the gay/lesbian folk I've met in my life could use some training in what is proper public behaviour.

Let the flaming commence! :D

I think I love you. <3 Platonically, of course.

On that note I'd like to add that this whole ordeal is as simple as making a second form of marriage, and calling it something other than 'marriage'. Everyone gets what they want. But, most people would guess that it would still, by a certain group, be a highly contested matter.

Personally, to me, love is love. Just keep the dirty on the down-low.

It is sad, though, that a very large percentage of the world has yet to grow up.

Marriage is not important to prove your love or not and it never been the objetive of a civil marriage. Marriage gives right and obligation and protection. By extension it gives it as well to the rest of the family.

Some exemples:

- Taxes....Revenues goes together but you can discount from the revenue the people in charge of. So if one of both does not work you will be able to discount it. You pay less taxes.

- Insurance. You pay less when you do a global one for the family, including the pet. Strangly it is not possible when you are not married do not ask me why....

- inheritance: if you are not married what what he has will go the the closest family member by default. If he did a special document to change that you will have to pay a lot of taxes because you are not considered as family.

- if one of both is not citizen of the country or no right to stay, marriage will give him/her the right to.

So you see a lot of legal stuffs are link to your status. Maybe it is good or not but it is like some countries works. So marriage is important from that social aspect.

For child marriage give legal protection. I will not add anything to the number of way to have child....

tisk tisk tisk, I love when people only think about the love part of marriage and forget the legal ramificatons. So I am going to list a few.

1. tax benefits
2. inheritance
3. medical benefits
4. medical decisions
5. you don't have to bear witness against your spouse
6. citizenship to spouses

There are more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I will be adding to this list as I think of them.
