My prayers goes out to everyone in the path of this storm. I myself is still projected directly in this path. I am moving about 50 miles north to Katy area. It's not far but it sure sounds a lot better than being in Galveston county since the ground level will be higher. I called motels and hotels and they are booked solid supposedly for the greater area of Texas.

Which Now Makes Rita The Third Most Intense Hurricane In Terms Of

Where ever it hits there will be major damage and I hope people will be willing to dig into their pockets again to donate even more money to The Red Cross. Jesus.  I really hope Houston is spared. Hopefully all the ridiculous 2 and 3 story brick colonial houses will shield my grandmother's tiny 1950's house (and not fall on it). ::maybe if I wish really hard for it to turn toward Mexico::

Houston people--if you are riding this one out, find that you can't ride this one out, and need somewhere to go, I am in Austin. PM me, please. I will do anything I can to help. Austin City Limits Music Festival is scheduled for this weekend. All of the Austin hotels are, most probably, booked, but I am armed with a phone and a wicked-clever set of friends.
