Actually those pictures looked like birth defects, so you are talking about embryos. What was the evidence that this was caused by DU and not a million other things that can cause birth defects especially in an impoverished war zone? I'm not saying it's bad, but this irrational and illogical jumping to conclusions annoys me. What alternative to DU do you propose? What dose are people recieving from the spent DU in their enviornment? How does it compare with other sources ? I'm not certain that DU isn't bad, but I'm also not conviced that it is a huge threat. Please provide some evidence.

Let’s see… Israel agrees to leave Lebanon under the condition that Hezbala is disbanded. Israel lives up to their word, what does Lebanon do? Not only did they not disband Hezbala, they helped them rearm, grow in power and even gave them seats in their government instead. Hezbala grows in strength until they believe that they can defeat Israel and decide to kidnap two Israeli solders and lob 100 missiles a day into Israel.
Israel is farking ATTACKED and is somehow the bad guy for defending themselves and trying to survive??? Hezbala underestimated Israel and is getting their ass handed to them and now they cry for a cease fire???? THEY STARTED THE WAR and when Israel has them on the run… somehow… it is supposed to be a good idea to not finish them off for what I ask you? So they can rearm and grow in strength so they can attack Israel again?
When your enemy, who is sworn to your death and distraction, STARTS A WAR WITH YOU and you have them on the run, finish the job so they won’t do it again. Had we done that with Sadam in the first Gulf war, we would have been saved a bunch of headaches.
Ask yourself one question. If Cuba kidnapped two US Soldiers and lobbed 100 missiles a day into Miami, what should the US do about it?
Oh, and the road to freedom is paved in the blood of those willing to die for it. If you are not willing to fight for your freedom, you don’t deserve it and won’t have it for long.

Guess some people thinking being born brown is a birth defect. |

In addition, non-depleted uranium weapons were also used in the Gulf War. In 2003, the Uranium Medical Research Center (UMRC) tested the urine of civilians in six different areas of Afghanistan four months after the American attacks and found that the urine had non-depleted uranium levels 400 to 2000 percent higher than normal. Several hundred Afghan civilians were found to have symptoms of radiation poisoning, such as joint pain, sleeping difficulties, headaches, memory problems, and disorientation. The Saddam Teaching Hospital in Basra (now the Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital) reported that cancer deaths had risen from 34 in 1989 to 603 in 2003. Birth abnormalites had also risen over 1,000 percent

Thanks, I just read the article about gulf war syndrome. I am aware of that. Other teratogens--materials that cause birth defects--may have been present too. One possibility is that desert winds bore traces of Iraqi poison gas. DU was one thing discussed but by no means the only one. How do we know that DU is the culprit? What are the risks compared to using other weapons with materials other than DU?
