Look, I generally don't like the military mindset either. Generally, people in the military, key thing--who are proud of it, are full of themselves, all because they're willing to be a pawn of the government (which makes them believe they are "extra-patriotic" and makes them believe that they care more about the country they reside than other people), and no matter how corrupt their mission is, generally they're still proud, and will verbally (and physically if possible) fight to the end to defend their actions, because they truly believe that no matter what they do in the military, if they're following orders, they're doing the right thing and are doing something good for their country. This makes calling someone an assassin, or a murderer, or any other names some of the most offensive things you could say to them. People don't like being called those types of names. This kind of mindset is so prevalent in the military of ANY country that if one would have called the Nazis those sorts of names during the time they were in power, they'd be offended as well.

When you're in the military, you're taught not to question the military, and especially when one is raised in "military families", to question the morals of the military or the ones calling the shots in the military is like spitting in the face of God.

My beef is actually not with individuals in the military--they're just pawns and they'll never see it that way. My beef is with those that call the shots for what the military does. In our current situation, my beef is with Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

But don't call the people in the military the names you have--they'll never see it that way, and you'll just create really hard feelings.
