i posed a "good morning" thread in this forum this morning and it got moved to the notices and well wishes forum.
so i take this to mean you can not say any thing positive to any one in the general forum with out it being moved to the well wishes forum.
with all due respect Jeska THIS SUCKS.
NEXT TIME ILL BE SURE NOT TO WISH ANY ONE WELL IN THE GENERAL FORUM.
maby i should of said something like I hope you all have a crappy day.
that would probably have been not moved

ya know maby i will just stay out of the forums i though that if i could inject some positive feelings in to the general forum it would do some good but to see it buried in the well wishes forum makes me very sad oh well so much for trying to bring cheer to a few people in the general forum .

Well, technically a good morning thread is a well wish. I don't know why people get so bent out of shape when their threads are moved, it is not like it was deleted.

crucial, first, GOOD MORNING TO YOU! It's actually more good night to you by my TTZ (Torley TimeZone) but GOOD GOOD nonetheless. Now, "good morning" is certainly a notice, but if you had expanded your original post to encapsulate ways of discussing saying "GOOD MORNING TO YOU!" in Second Life, it may have very well been a topic for General. For example, you could have suggested how to hold a newspaper attachment in one hand and then wave with the other, maybe with a pet D&D Dog at your feet or somesuch thing. You have a very good point actually... "GOOD MORNING TO YOU!" isn't said very much in SL because of timezone differences... however, we DO have SL days and nights which are the same for everyone unless you've used tha client to override tha sunmoon. In which case, yes, one can really say... GOOD MORNING TO YOU!!!

ya know i was once part of a very popular good morning thread in another online world and it did so much good i cant say how much.
it brought people together it made people feel good it made them laugh it brought cheer to almost every single person who read and posted to the thread. and it was in the general topic forum. if it were buried in a forum that no one reads and clearly the numbers on the general thread out weigh the numbers for the well wishes thread. no one would see it the casual passer buy would not see it and not post to it. the thread i was part of grew in strength as time went by with more and more people joining in all the time. we encouraged new folks to join in, in the joy of the thread.
but as i can clearly see here there is no room here in this forum except in a place few visit for some good old fashion cheerfulness and positive attitude.

crucial, let's count our blessings. By doing what you just did... you're discussing... and maybe this thread will stay in General because it's appropriately ontopic.

The general forum is for matters related to Second Life in general; matters dealing with the Second Life virtual environment that don't quite fit in the design, scripting tips, animation, technical and other topic specific forums. We have a forum for well wishes, such as a good morning post, and an off topic forum for just flapping one's jaws. Trying to put threads in the appropriate forum to start with would reduce the moderator's work load. From: Forum Guidelines ... please do not post a "why did my post get removed" post.
Post in appropriate places, for appropriate reasons – The forums are split into separate topics. Please do not post discussions into forums that are clearly designed for other discussions.

Have a nice day. well then we have a difference of opinion of what goes where cause i believe saying good morning to fellow residents of SECOND LIFE is on topic in the general forum. since i am saying good morning to OTHER SECOND LIFE residents. but no mater i will be sure to put it on topic in the future with some relevant second life material as torley was so nice enough to point out.

I always click to see New Posts. I never really know what forum things are in because I see everything since I was here last. Nothing gets buried that way, except for the ones with no replies. And, even though it is evening now, I hope you have a wonderful morning tomorrow

You can't get a general feeling of people's opinions of a feature idea either.

What gets me is the way that encyclopedias are split into separate articles.

Yeah I remember thoes also, never cared for them much my self. There's nothing wrong with posting them in the well wishes forum, just an extra click away.... (they REALLY should be in the off topic forumfor both Here and There) Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled program.. - Sam
