Bill Maher said it best: From: Bill Maher On your watch, we've lost almost all of our allies, the surplus, four airliners, two Trade Centers, a piece of the Pentagon and the City of New Orleans… So, yes, God does speak to you, and what he's saying is, "Take a hint."

There is 3 video's submitted with the same style, check it out, there worth watching! The style of how they are done are more entertaining then most cracks against bush, cause its not putting any blame directly but more on seeking a common truth

Anyone claiming that an imaginary figure is speaking to them, and them ONLY, should not be running a country. If he was out on the street telling people god was talking to him, he'd probably end up in a mental care facility. Funny how things work.

huh? I read the news story & all I see is that we're taking the word of the Palastinian Prime Minister that Bush said this? Wow, he wouldn't have any reason to lie now, would he? Does the term hearsay mean anything to you people?

While the source for this quote doesn't seem to be that reliable, I wouldn't be surprised if Bush had actually made this quote based on his past record for being a bit of a Jesus zealot.
"I believe that God wants me to be president." -G.W. Bush, January 1999
"I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn’t do my job." -G.W. Bush, July 2004
Let's not also forget that while governor, G.W. Bush signed a memorandum in April of 2000 proclaiming June 10th to be 'Jesus Day' in Texas.
His father also has a habit of speaking his mind about religion in a rather unsetting quote:
"No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God." -G.H.W. Bush, August 1987

was this the same set of quotes...
10-06-2005 13:41
i just read earlier on (i think) americablog and eschaton? seems like the older, shorter quotations... there's perhaps a fresh set of nuttery, and if i remember right, it was said to afghani officials... a bit more expansive, and pretty weird. look up dose blogs for the latest and see if it corroborates; i'd do it for you, but afraid i have to run off for work again... persevere, y'all... strange times. i feel he uses it all the time just as cover for his own selfish agenda, but let's hope this false front of self-important religious extremism has the reverse effect on how the weak-minded think in the future...

Um.. wrong Bush... (Although I think it's a really stupid quote, I don't see the relevance.) And for the above article-- great source! (And even if it's real, it's being completely misinterpreted.) Besides all of this, you're completely misinterpreting everything W. Bush has said that was religious. I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for an athiest to understand to be honest. And I think this thread should be called "Anti-religious bigotry" or something as a secondary title or something too, because that's what it's sounding like to me. Bill Maher's quote sounds about as stupid as the H. W. quote above... *sigh*

hey, i'm back... here's the url from americablog.org...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2005/10_october/06/bush.shtmland here's the money quote: Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'" well "by god," sounds more like texas phrasology than palestinian to me. (i did have that wrong; nabil is the palestinian foreign minister.) he's sure used plenty of this kind of "don't think, just do what you're told" memes before. "yes, god... yes, i will pick up the knife... yes, lord!!"

You're misunderestimating me, I am a Christian. Difference is, my Jesus never said "Kill the darkies" I believe He said, " Peace be With You" Bush just wants to be the shepard of the sheep. God gave you wisdom, notice when the shepard is fleecing his flock. Now who is this quote referring to? From: someone "In truth, they have endless ambitions of imperial domination, and they wish to make everyone powerless except themselves...Throughout history, tyrants and would-be tyrants have always claimed that murder is justified to serve their grand vision. And they end up alienating decent people across the globe." I wonder is W. had a ringing in his ears when his staff wrote that for him. O wait, in case you start to think for yourself, I'll scare you into blindly beleiving me again cue dramatic musicFrom: someone "I would remind them that we were not in Iraq on September 11, 2001, and al Qaeda attacked us anyway."

From: Garoad Kuroda Um.. wrong Bush... (Although I think it's a really stupid quote, I don't see the relevance.) No.. right Bush. Let's look at that again: From: Katiahnya Muromachi His father also has a habit of speaking his mind about religion in a rather unsetting quote: "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God." -G.H.W. Bush, August 1987 Had you bothered to even read my post before deciding to lash back at me, you would have seen that I was careful enough to indicate in two places that I was referring to George Herbert Walker, and not his son. From: Garoad Kuroda I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for an athiest to understand to be honest. And I think this thread should be called "Anti-religious bigotry" or something as a secondary title or something too, because that's what it's sounding like to me. I'm not an athiest. Thanks so much though for displaying the sweeping generalization some Christians make that anyone who has a problem with this is a just a heathen on a witch hunt vendetta bent on destroying religion. I simply do not like the fact that the most powerful leader in the world is saying that he is recieving instruction from God, who is talking to him personally. I can't help but laugh and think about the movie Real Genius when Mitch installs that transciever into Kent's tooth filling while he's sleeping, and then uses it to talk to Kent as God and tells him to stop touching himself. I can picture Rummy crouched behind a potted plant whispering into a little microphone..
