One more thing since it's a laptop. Try a coolpad under it. It's difficult to clean the dust out of a laptop because of the problem of opening the case to get to the components that need cleaning. But it might help to get a can of compressed air and blow through all the ventalation holes to get as much dust out as possible. Heat is an issue with laptops and SL. Dust holds heat to things like CPU's and graphics chips which are the two components that heat up the most when running programs like SL.
