I open it... I get a send crash report, I send... Could not connect to servers, logs not sent. Then it never opens. :/
It's running though, so says my task manager on the processes tab. I have to stop process to get it to stop running. I have played SL on this laptop for almost a year. This happened suddenly by popping up a screen but go to not responding immediately. I'm not the best with computers... I've updated my graphics and such, Deleted the settings.xml, cleared cache, clean reinstalled... Still nothing.

Oh and also, I've tried other viewers as well and they all have the same problem. My computer isn't new and doesn't run SL with amazing quality but I have played and enjoyed it for almost a year.

Post your computer specs. Also, try making another account on your computer and running SL on that user. If it works, its most likely a setting in the User Account you usually use. Make sure all your drivers are up to date too. That will make a big difference in preformance.

What error message does it give you, if any?
Also, im asuming that you have an admin account, and are running the app in admin mode?

It doesn't even open up. *twitch* Yes I open it... tried running as an administrator, tried running it running it as an windows XP sp2 as well tried both at the same time. I've really done a freaking whole lot just to try and figure it out. :/

There is a number of things that this could be. I would reccomend that you check your anti virus is allowing the program to run. Ensure you have the latest viewer (Try an older version too if you can?)
Otherwise I would reccomend submitting a support ticket as there is a large number of things that this could be!

It's avast... I tried older versions I tried the latest viewers I tried different viewers. This is getting ridiculous. If I submit a ticket I know what they're going to say. Your computer can't run SL. I've run it for almost a year on this laptop fine.

Think back to the last time that you run it with no problems, what did you change around that time? What settings or config did you change, on SL and computer? What did you install? Uninstall? Download? Delete? Can you do a system roll back to a point it was working / before you made any of the above changes?

Didn't work, I don't download much that will change my computer's settings that drastically. It just started randomly not responding when I opened it... Then after a while of trying to get it to work it just never opened up again.

I've been working on it as much as I could. I tried rolling back as soon as it started giving me problems and it still didn't work.

Then I would reccomend that you submit a support ticket, as I can't think of anything to suggest at this moment.

What kind of internet service do you have?
Are you in a college dorm?
Is there a modem or router involved?
If there's a network involved is it wired or wireless?
Do you have Aeroglas turned off?

I Googled "HP G50 Notebook PC" and got this page: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SupportTaskIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=125&prodSeriesId=3744116&prodTypeId=321957&supportTaskId=22964Click on the model your computer is for the specs. What I saw that might be the source of your problem is the Intel Graphics Accerator........it's weak. On the left pane of the page you will see a link to download drivers........you might check those out to see if any of the drivers need updating........especially the video drivers

I'd probably try thoroughly cleaning out the drivers and installing them afresh.

By the viewer not starting up do you mean when you click on the program shortcut it simply does not launch the client? And when you check your task manager there's an instance of SL running? And all this started when you crashed one time? That's what I read and understand you meant, anyway. A crash could (and sometimes does) damage system files that are necessary for a program to properly launch so I think maybe a system restore might help.........back to a day or two before your crash. First, I'd uninstall SL...........doing the manual deleting of the files left by the uninstall process. Once you do that, make sure you go to Windows Update to get any important updates that you may have gotten since the crash (they won't be there after restoring to any date before you got the updates). Then go get the driver updates again............after uninstalling your video driver first. Go to SL's website and download fresh copies of the viewer(s) you want to use......save to your hard drive (don't do the "run" from the website....always install from a saved download). Try SL again.
I think what Osprey meant by "Have you tried wiring in?" was have you tried hard wiring to your router/modem instead of connecting wirelessly. Cat5e cable to make the connection. Wireless networking is sometimes flakey with graphically and computationally intensive programs like SL. Little things can and do interfer with the reception/transmission of the data since that wireless signal is extremely weak and the frequencies used are very close to the same frequencies that cell phones, cordless phones, some remotes, wireless game handsets, etc. They are also subject to a neighbor "piggybacking" on your internet connection. Almost anything can interfer with the signal.
Hope something works for you.

They were just things I thought of to try that are relatively painless.

Hope something works for you. Everything in the first paragraph; I've done that. The System restore doesn't go back past 3 weeks and I said in the first comment that I've Uninstalled this fully then reinstalled it... I don't open it from a "run" from the website.. I don't even know where or how to do that. Also, at one time it DID start up... but that's when it first started giving me problems... Because randomly I would open it and it would go straight to not responding... and sometimes it'd work. :/ Wiring in; I can't do that. I've reset the modem and such but I have no cable because it isn't my internet connection and it's password protected anyways. It's my room mates and she doesn't have a cable for it. The connection is fine because she plays SL on her laptop as well.
