So, has Second Life crashed on server end, or is it just me? I keep getting "Verfiying protocol version", then a system may be down error. Thanks!

i think it's a bit more then just that, the forums were a bit flaky a few min ago.

i can tell when the server is really down cause there are 100s of people surfing the forums. when im having problems and so few are surfing the forums i know the problem is just on my end. heh

...it was posted by Linden Labs as a problem with Cox cable subscribers, which I have, and wholly on their end.
I contacted Cox cable and they didn't know what the heck I was talking about. lol Typical. What eventually happened was by waiting for time to sloooowly pass, it cleared up. I'e been trying to log on for the last hour or so with the same stop at "protocol". |

Immediately after the game went down, the status page said it was routine maintenance, and would be back up in an hour. However, now, the status page claims the game is up and running, which we all agree is nonsense.
So, working from the assumption that it *is* only down for an hour, then we've got, what, another 20 minutes? =[EDIT]= Just to be safe, I did some checking, and Comcast cable says there are no issues with my line, and everything other than SL works fine. _____________________

I show alot of my friends online and i dont see them browsing the forums. Hmm... Either they are online in game or that list is screwed. Maybe it is an ISP problem but im on time warner cable.

I've got my finger pointing at AT&T having dropped a server. gar1-p360.sffca.ip.att.net is between me and SL and the server immediately after it in the trace is sufferring 100% packet loss. I have no idea why, given this, the forums still work...

There is no problem with our ISPs.
It's official, Haney posted in the announcements that there is unexpected downtime, so we have to wait. |

All I know is. i hate wasting my day off from work sitting around waiting for it to be fixed. |
