[RESOLVED] Logins slow or failing
Yeah, right. Logins are still failing. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Any Linden employee who posts that an issue has been [RESOLVED]®" and it has not been should be terminated. There is no excuse for posting an issue as resolved without make absolutely sure that it truly has been. Say "We think it's fixed", We hope it's fixed" even "We have no idea if it's fixed" but never, ever say it is fixed unless you are willing to put your job on the line that it is indeed fixed. _____________________

12-28-2008 14:29
Of course I see how it was resolved....everything says things are nrmal but I get a heavy load logins disabled message when trying
Migh be nice f the blog was updated reflecting the FACT that the teches can't figure it out instead of misleading folks into thinking everything's cool...as usual |

I wouldn't trust most of thier techies with the ability to spit in a box. We run 18 sims in house at 45000 prims each on a desktop. These folks are the same ones who are telling you that your laggy sim is on a dedicated class five server. |

its even more annoying when a large % of that load is probably alts used purely for traffic gaming and people that pay can't log in

These folks are the same ones who are telling you that your laggy sim is on a dedicated class five server. Get real. What kind of comparison is that? Tell me how many concurrent log ins do you have on those 18 sims? How big is your network to get all those "accounts" connected? What type of asset server do you use to toss all that graphic data, scripted data, chat, music, video around? How many users of your little grid created the content seen there and store it on your server? Geeze.........If I didn't think you were serious I'd be laughing my butt of right now. |

I'm lucky, I live on the other side of the world, usually everything is resolved before I get out of bed.
I have no problems logging in this morning. |

Read the Grid Status Blog..
Logins Disabled Posted by Status Desk on December 29th, 2008 at 04:09 pm PST [3:20PM Pacific] We are currently experiencing a problem with the database that may result in difficulties logging in, rezzing objects, completing transactions, and searching. We are aware of this issue and our ops team are working to resolve it as swiftly as possible. In the mean time, please avoid making important transactions or rezzing no-copy objects. We have temporarily disabled logins while this issue is investigated. ------------------------Update [3:30PM Pacific] We have re-enabled logins. |

These in-world issues have apparently NOT been fixed.
http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2008/12/29/post405/ Why is the status website always so far behind? Can you not just keep your tens of thousands of residents, who are usually online at this time, posted? What's the problem of releasing reliable information rather than false positives based on assumptions? Aparently "Online Now" has dropped by 30,000 residents within the last 15 minutes. So you cannot deny that there's something wrong. |

Heh, even now at 7:35 PM est, I just got kicked from the grid. I've attempted several log in's and all have froze me on the the "Logging in" part of the loading screen. Thanks for temporarily fixing the problem tech's. Now stop playing games and actually fix it this time -_-... lol

I have just an hour to find a dress for a party.. I'm not impressed
![]() BOOOOOOOO! to all this crap! I'm so sick of spending money on something that can't even be reliable for a whole day. I am so sick of that little crash icon that keeps popping up and ruining my SL! Any idea how long 'swiftly' is? |

Darcy, since it took them an hour to supposedly resolve the earlier issue, which was never resolved at all, as evidence by the fact that I can't rez shit....
Give them at least an hour. |

Not to brag but I never crashed before. Today? Haven't been on longer than 15 minutes before i would get booted out. Then, spend the next 10 minutes trying to log back in. Don't know what they did but something broke and they need to fix it
