I've crashed to desktop about a million times. Sometimes I have a minute to fly around an island, but most of the time I crash instantly.
Anyone else having this problem?

Hi you guys. Crashes are tough to debug, but maybe if you post your machine specs someone will have some advice. To do that, next time you're in SL, go to the "Help" menu at the top of your screen and choose "About". You'll see a dialog box that contains, among other things, a short list of info about your machine. That's all folks need to know ... just cut and paste that here.
Good luck! Oh, and CattCreature, welcome to the forums!! Very cute name ... |

I fixed those two corrupted files. They had nothing to do with it. Still crashing to desktop.

Posting my crash log.
http://pastebin.ca/850200 I've installed the regular launcher and the WindLight Launcher. Both crash the same exact way, but after crashing in WindLight Launcher, I get send crash report messages instead of just crashing to desktop. Sometimes I can walk around for a minute.. other times I crash instantly. No other programs or games crash like this. |

i got the problem for 3 days now....i can actually log in and walk around but only for a few seconds before i get the "usual" CTD....
figured out that it MAYBE has something to do with sculpted prims cause everytime shortly before i crash they become really akward twisted and "spiked" shortly after that i crash....i tried EVERYTHING now except for formatting my hard drives but i really dont think that this will solve my problem |

Formating your hard drive probably will not work. If it's not drivers for your graphics card or some other hardware related to SL and not client corruption it's getting into an area of possible hardware failure of some sort. Or heat related. Try cleaning the inside of your case with compressed air...........encluding your power supply. Check to see if all your case and cpu fans are operating. Check to make sure your connections to your router and/or modem are secure. If using wireless, hard wire your connections. Reboot your router and/or modem.
As long as this has been going on for you, you have serious issues......most likely with your computer itself. SL has it's problems....but not like yours. Sorry for such non information......but I don't have any other suggestions. |

case cleaned hardware checked everything already done IF it would be a hardware issue then other games/applications would be also affected wich is not the case these problems ONLY occur in combination with second life
i also use several games/applications that need more "power" and ressources and these work like a charm without any problems whatsoever im clearly at the end of my knowledge to be honest also i have reports from several friends wich had the exact same or similar problems for a few hours up to 3 or more days the problems disappeared as the appeared....out of a sudden will try to work on this problem and maybe find a way EDIT: heres what i get everytime befoer SL crashes to desktop this only seems to occur with sculpted prims also this occurs since i have the crashes (4 days noww....) maybe a connection? http://img255.imageshack.us/my.php?image=issuebq0.jpg |

To the OP: Have you actually deleted the entire SL directory from your hard drive and reinstalled?

CTD happens to me too since about 24 hours. About five times within one hour, even immediately on login. Before I almost never crashed. I've heard it from friends too. All since yesterday.

yep also registry cleaned afterwards Ummm, you're not the OP! (Original Poster) LOL. That's okay. Yes, also deleting the application data folder helps sometimes. You'll have to go through the "This is your Inventory" blue pop up notices when you log back in, but it's not a big deal. Are you guys wearing any attachments? Detach EVERYTHING (pie menu, detach, detach all) and see how that works. _____________________

Yeah, I've uninstalled/deleted everything SL related. Even deleted the installer and downloaded new ones.
I've cleaned out my case completely. I also can handle every other game I play with little to no problems. I 3d model in 3ds max while I have giant photoshop files open.. and I don't seem to have any problems. I don't think its my computer, but maybe.. we'll see how many more people have this problem. |

Ok, I haven't been online for some months and now I have exactly the same problem. In August '07 evryting was fine but now SL crashes shortly (1 sec. - 5 min.) after I logged in.
