My log progress bar got as far as the "L" in "Logging in." this time. I think I have the Big Six just about memorized now. And David you are bad trying to scare us lol  THE SYSTEM REQS ARE STILL THE SAME GUYS!

Is that the message everyone is getting?

Same here they said it is congested with lots of loginsw but the grid is up, bUt the login in is slow , thats what they said

Hey look, I predicted exactly this. SL will be weird for the next 24-48 hours. It always is after the grid goes down. Relax, drink a beer, make love to your partner, whatever. It's cool, they'll fix it.  You're going to experience login problems, slow inventory, teleport failures, and everything else. This is a result of the grid going down, and then once it's up, 5000 people hitting it at once. Relax. LF

Does the update cause insane lag that makes you unable to even move? cuz if thats not the problem, I have to figure out what is.
Most zones I could hardly move, period. Finally, before the server came down again, I couldnt even spin around to look at anything.

The Grid was take offline again, apparently to look into slow logins.
Best source of information on why you may or may not be able to login would be the Announcements forum. Yeah I know its a boring place, but its the best spot to read up on any issues that concern you from The Lindens themselves.

I myself know why I cant log in, I was more concerned with earlier when I could log in. Seemed like other people were much more able to move around than I was.

Here's what I don't get.....we go through this with every major update, so why are they offering free accounts right now?? It's like throwing gasoline on a fire. Wait till the grid is stable before you open the gates to the masses. *shrugs*
