Invetory system is currently unavalible.

Hello everyone. I'm having problems logging in right now.

About 5 minutes ago I was online working on a project when I suddenly got a message saying I had been logged out of SL.

Upon trying to log back in I recieved this message constantly.

"Inventory system is currently unavalible"

I hope this doesn't mean I am going to be loosing a lot of objects in my inventory.

I'm getting the same message as well over and over.

Same here. I can't rezz, can't teleport and I'm been signed out 3 times in the last 20 minutes. Getting the same inventory message as you now.

I am also having the:
Login Failed.
The Inventory system is unavalible.

I got logged out because of an internet reset and now i can't get on at all.

Apparently they have just posted on their blog the following:

[2:30pm Pacific] A small number of residents may be impacted by login issues while we perform emergency maintenance. We expect this to be resolved within 30 minutes. We will post here when the issue is resolved.


I have to admit, I will NOT be happy if I loose any items...though I doubt it, I wasn't messing with my inventory at the time. Plus they may have deactivated a server with the system on it.

Gotta love linden labs. Shuttin' things off randomly :/ I just hope nothing is missing as well or i'm not moved out in the middle of no mans land at 0,0

lol, Not been here in months & come back & within 30 mins I'm booted. good old Linden labs will never change.

Well, It all happens randomly these problems and for sure to random people. I have never once had this problem before and didn't know it existed. UNTIL TODAY... :/

Same problem here. I saw that this is not the first time either, you can google it as I did. I guess well have to wait the half hour out and hopefully the maintenance time isn't extended.

I have come for your inventories.

This isn't a joke.

Several people and I are not happy with LL and we have come up with a way to improve the system.

Radical change is necessary.

Your system sucks, LL. That's how I did it.

Y'all guys............LOL. You should have been here 3 years ago. This was a regular Tuesday occurrance when LL did server updates. It sometimes took a couple days for everything to settle down then we had high concurrecncy (you know like 7 K logged on at the same time!!!) on the weekends. Monday was about the only day things ran relatively smoothly.

Give them time............the said it is an emergency maintenance issue. It's not like they planned it.

And, no, I doubt anyone lost inventory due to this. That message saying the inventory system is currently unavailable would indicate the problem is somewhere in the asset server area.

I've only played like a couple years so i wouldn't know about this sort of issue yet, UNTIL TODAY O_O

"Inventory server unavailable" means exactly that, the server with your inventory is down. The assets themselves are on separate file server clusters.

People do lose inventory items from all kinds of fun sim, network, viewer problems, but those inventory database machines do seem to fail pretty cleasnly when they fail. LL seems to have good enough transactioning for that little piece of the system.
