Why don`t they post gambing as non pg? Muture sim it should be in not PG.

Why? In FirstLife[tm], minors are allowed to be around the gambling, but they're not allowed to participate.

Gambling, in general, is a bad idea. Especially with the lack of good random number seeding. So, I don't do it. I won't stop other people from doing it, though.

I like the idea of a "gambling" event flag, or a set of keywords automatically generated by the client from the list it gets back from the event list server, as well as a count of them, and the count of people at events in each list. If you want to avoid the gambling, "-*ingo" would automatically match all of the ingo events and unmark them in that list, and remove them from the view.

This would also have the effect of allowing the user to affect their own experience more, which is always a good thing.

i recently just started secondlife again after 6 months of not playing and i noticed the whole of the events board is litteredwith tringo/slingo events. i tried hosting a water feature class today and 2 people came instead of the 25 or so i used to have before slingo/tringo.

slingo/tringo = trash

Have you actualy tried tringo before sufggesting to ban it?

Anyway, I suggest they add new filtering categories for events.
Unless of course you *did* mean "ban all activities that are better then mine so more people will show up"

Tringo, Slingo, and Bingo are not - I REPEAT - ARE N O T - gambling.

Playing slot machines where you must put money in is gambling.

Playing "free slots" is NOT gambling.

Playing Tringo, Slingo, and Bingo - in which you are not required to put in a dime

is

NOT

gambling.

Therefore there is no rationale for making them be "mature".

The mousetrap factor

Look. SL is a platform. Tringo caught on because it showcased some pretty cool capabilities of this platform and was easily accessible to the masses. Which means to say, anyone could be a part of this "showcase of the platform's capabilities", not just scripters or "uber-users". People were like "oh snap! that's some cool shiznit!"

If you want to get the *ingo saturation down create some great *easily accessible* content, and what's more, get creative in your marketing (build a better mousetrap). That's all there is to it. Until then, please stop the whining.

I think I'm one of the few people left in SL who has never played --Ingo.

Right there with ya, Travis. The plethera of Ingos doesn't bother me in the slightest though. Banning it is absolutely insane.

Honestly, I see nothing wrong with the ingo games. I mean I started out playing bingo in SL and moved to hosting it. I remember bingo games at local fairs and festivals as fund raisers, not as addictions. It may be a bit of gambling, but it's not like a slot machine. You're actually playing with other people, it's a public gathering thing that I've seen even kids playing alongside their parents at church functions IRL.

Slingo and Tringo is fine. What I can't stand is the people that go there to play and do not contribute a cent to to the pot. Leeches, yuk.

The game developers should have at least given the option to require a minimum contribution for playing.

So hey, if you want to take all those folks over to your events, please do.

Only when people have shifted their pleasure reward systems from money prizes to intellectual development will we see a decline in money gambling, until then, I'll continue to write letters to Santa...
