info dispensers available
06-06-2005 18:18
We now have TWO different info dispensers for the festival. A 2-prim freestanding kiosk, and a 1-prim wall poster. If you'd like to set them out on your land, come by Athena (12, 84) and get them. You'll have to buy them for $0 to get a copy.
Thanks to Jim Lumiere for the artwork and artistic vision, and to Jon Marlin for free use of his amazing remotely updated vendor system. _____________________

Are we still doing a parade? Or did that get dropped due to lack of a decent route? I'm making a float with a friend, but I just wondered if it was actually going ahead?
The contents of the pride vendor thingy are great by the way! Love the litlle rainbows! |

Per a request from Olmy, SLuniverse.com is willing to host the schedule of remaining events for pride. I have set up a page that can be directly accessed at http://www.slpride.com - however, Olmy and I keep playing IM tag on talking about it. Whoever is interested in maintaining the page and schedule can contact me at cristiano@sluniverse.com for details on accessing the editing features of the page (or you can reach me on Yahoo at cristiano_diaz).
I would also like to make it easy to create a special album of pictures on Snapzilla from these events. I am still working on the details of that but I will post it this weekend. _____________________

i'll talk to olmy about it. is slpride.com dreamweaver friendly? wow... did you go out and register the address?!? I am a Web monkey in RL and can help, as well. Lemme know. Note: It looks like http://www.sluniverse.com/createpage.aspx?Page=pride is a skinned page. Would this page be managed through an administrative CMA tool, or would the .Net code need to be separately maintained? _____________________

As far as being Dreamweaver friendly, the way that I implemented it is to make the content section of the page editable through a web browser using a WYSIWYG editor. It also has an HTML pane on it to enter HTML directly - so you could design the content (minus head/body tags) in Dreamweaver and just paste it into and save. Example: ![]() _____________________

Paolo, Right now it is just a static content page that can be updated through the browser - if you want to get more creative with it we can talk ![]() _____________________

i'm a tech jack of all trades, if you are a web monkey, i would love to defer to you. Actually, it sounds like the page can be maintained with a simple WYSIWIG editor (such as this forum editor app). I assume that the body content is stored in a database, and can be updated on the fly (correct me if I'm wrong, Cris). That said, it would be really easy to manage the body content pane via Dreamweaver. Just be sure to strip out all of the header tags, e.g., <html><head><title>, and grab just the formatted HTML from the code pane of Dreamweaver. I can put together a modular layout for the page, and a tablegrid template for the events. Just missing the page copy. _____________________

At present, as you said, it is, um, rather 'fluid.' Paolo, if you are willing to work with Christiano, I would be more than happy to forward revised schedules to you as as they are updated. I must say that the folks in SL never cease to amaze me with their talent, generosity, and kindness. Ya'll rock!! ![]() |
