You have to give SL's shitty permissions system some credit. It certainly seems to point out those with no moral standing a little better than otherwise.

Someone asked me why I stopped my involvment in projects like GNU wave.
Why I don't make anything and just hand it around anymore.
Why I don't support or extend any of the freebies I made in the past.

One reason most of my freebies are either

(a) things I don't really care about, one way or another

or

(b) free to buy, but no-transfer. Get it from me or get gone.

As I am a man of my word - this curiously puts me in the position of being the only person in SL who cannot sell my hot tub :)

Astonishing!

Well.

While I'm generally not in the business of 'hot tubs' and underworld dealings, I have made no such sworn statement. Thus if you wind up broken and disaffected, I'll help you 'fence' a few of your own free creations if it comes down to that.

Ironic, pathetic, but a strangely telling sight... I hear some of the founders of Solidarnosc are now homeless in Warsaw - would this be much different?

I suppose we could wander the Welcome Area in trenchcoats, if it came down to that...
