I remember a while back people were asking for LL to publish their employee policies. Well the kiosk with the notecard of information appears to be back out. Entitled "Internal Policies Shared with Residents 9/26/05" it has the following information inside: In the interest of disclosure, we are sharing an overview of the following Linden Lab Employee Policies with Residents. Any changes to the following policies will be updated to this kiosk in the future. Basic Resident Related Polices Basic Employee Policies Basic Policies Regarding God Tools Basic Policies Regarding Employee Alts Teen Grid Backround Checks Copyright & DCMA Location: Kirkby(186,240)

you know reallyrick, you have a way of getting info and being at the right place at the right time pretty damn often. I am starting to get suspicious of you...
that being said, thank you for the info, and thank you LL for finally coming through

No need to be suspicious of RR. He's just all over the place. You're swamped with newbies? RR steps out of the shadows and a group of mentors follows in his wake. Lost and lonely? He pops out from behind a tree with advice and comfort. Taking a shower? He...no, wait. Nevermind.

Don't be SO QUICK to point fingers, Tateru! I could make a similar case for YOU! (Meant as the most positive compliment for ReallyRick and Tateru; nothing less, everything gained.)

I'd like to applaud LL for publishing these.
I'd like to also sneer at people who lambasted LL without giving them proper time to respond to the requests for this.

From: Tateru Nino Oh, wait. We weren't going to talk about that, were we? Absolutely not. But since you turned that into an "absolutely yes" I suppose I will just have to embrace that contradiction, Tat!

I'm full of contradictions. I'm full of something anyway. Ask anyone. And I agree with both of Hiro's points. Only with less actual sneering. More like a resigned sigh.

I'd like to also sneer at people who lambasted LL without giving them proper time to respond to the requests for this. Well, since being on the 1st string of MJW, after 2 moths of waiting, we finally succeeded at our 1 and only request. To all you shit stirrers who complained MJW was making a power grab, here is the benefit to you. I have yet to read it to see if its worth a shit, but the one and only objective the original MJW pursued has been accomplished the rest of you trolls on the 2nd string enjoy your punch and pie. You may get a boner for derailing something that benefits all, but you can no longer deny that what us 1st stringers in the trenchers pursued was obtained. it is too bad it is easier for some to destroy than build, because there was far more that we wanted to pursue for the greater good. But some would rather enjoy a quick joke than clarification and transparency. Philip saw no problem with accommodating what MJW requested. I wonder what egotistical sense of superiority made SOME think that they knew better and found that the pursuit of tastier pie was a more beneficial and meaningful endeavour than establishing what exactly the ground rules of the "metaverse" were. and btw reallyrick, that was a joke. I am truly sorry i didn't include a punch and pie reference so that all the elite forum buzzards would understand (this statement has no bearing whatsoever to anyone who posted in this thread prior to this post)

I am starting to get suspicious of you... *waves hand in front of face* "I am not the avie you seek. Move along." "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" You are not the first person to mention that to me. I think even the great and powerful Torley once asked me, "How do you find out about all these things?" I just happen to stumble onto them completely at random I swear. Considering that I don't have to work in real life and can typically be in Second Life as much as 105 hours a week ( I know) I just tend to get all sorts of information passed my way. I figure if it is something I want to know then others might want to know it as well.

I am truly sorry i didn't include a punch and pie reference so that all the elite forum buzzards would understand (this statement has no bearing whatsoever to anyone who posted in this thread prior to this post) I retract this statement. This is as censored as showing Deep Throat to 1st graders. WTF?!?! No wonder it took so long to release. Was Ollie North flown in to teach you how to use the shredder? This is an insult. The rules on the back of my library card are more comprehensive. What exactly are you hiding LL? Why is this document less verbose than the average caption on a photo at Snapzilla. I am not exactly a conspiracy theroist, but what has been provided barely includes common sense. If this is the best you can do regarding policies for employees, I would have a problem trusting you to walk my dog. I may beleive in Santa Claus and the Tooth fairy, but asking me to believe this is the extent of your policies is as insulting as it is ridiculous. If I am wrong and this is the total text of your internal policies, you should be ashamed of yourselves. This is a joke with no punchline. Either release the real documents or surrender the duties of crafting the policies to a 3rd party who may actually know what they are doing. I worked shovelling horse shit when I was a teen and I had a more realistic employee policy I had to follow. I also shoveled less shit that summer than whoever it is that relased this rubbish did. If you have no intention of releasing the policy tell us to mind our own business. If this is the extent of your policy, this is about the most embarrassing thing you have ever published. Please be honest or tell us to mind our own business. This is garbage and it would clog an industrial strength disposal. What the hell do you take us for?

I applaud Linden Lab for posting their Employee Policies, but in practice LL will either choose to enforce or not enforce the rules as they see fit. As in the past, LL will find that the policies restrict their own freedoms, so they will either ignore the rules or change them to suit their needs.
So the notecard may be a good read and give us all a warm-fuzzy feeling about LL's policies, but in the end it's all about who you know and how you can work the system.

I understand your point hank, but in all honesty the do not remove tag on my bedding is a better read and more complete than the cliff notecard they handed out. I am disappointed and I hope this was some sort of mistake. LL has had tremendous ups and downs in the last month (especially this last 2 weeks) but House Party 3 exceeded my expectations more than this "policy"

Is this the document that mentions things like "your inworld transactions of Linden account and all Alts will be audited every month" ?

From: Mulch Ennui yup
profound and comprehensive, huh? I haven't read it, but it's probably no more profound than the Sears employee handbook, or the City of Milan governmental employee handbook. Less comprehensive also means less verbose. i don't think anyone at LLab has a lawyer's degree. Finally, they were under absolutely no obligation to provide any of that to you, as some of that handbook (that was probably excised) could be construed as a trade secret. They are a private corporation, you know. you do not own shares, much to the chagrin of the MJW "Stakeholder" decree. LF

hmmm already breaking rules I see... lots of Liasions/Lindens in groups?
Liaisons are not allowed to join resident groups as it is perceived as a sign of bias. Liaisons will not set up groups unless it's work related and approved (like mentors etc).

I've seen LL employees (i.e. their Linden account) join resident groups and then engage in theft of land and mucking with the officer memberships, all in violation of these posted "rules".
