Maybe I just haven't read enough of the bumpf but I've still not seen anything that convinces me on this either way. I've clashed with Phaylen a few times, mostly over the awards, and no doubt she could care less what I think, but this just seems really out of line with the way she comes across. I mean really. Over-emotional, sure, but spiteful enough to write something like this? That's quite a leap.

Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. Certainly I haven't seen anything to utterly convince me either way. So much seems to be circumstantial or DIY-PI work, extrapolating things that may or may not be there.

Actually, that's not true.

There is plenty of legal precedent to indicate that slander doesn't even need to name someone specifically, but rather that they are implied implicitly.

For instance, if I say, "That jerk who lives at 21 Baker Street is ... etc ... " it's still slander, because it makes it fairly obvious who is being referred to.

Also, Lecktor, being slandered is not a feeling, it's a condition resulting in negative verbal abuse. Technically, it's all libel, since it's written, but that's splitting hairs.

That said, from what my friends who were named in the PDFs have said, it's less the words themselves that is troubling (as Cristiano said, he laughed it off) but the fact that it was done anonymously, and allegedly a person who had acted as a friend.

In English, it was troubing because the people felt it was an anonymous backstab.

I understand all that Hiro and thanks for the condescending 'In English' breakdown for my dumb hick ass. I think ya'll are wrong though on the perpertrator and I'm still LMAO.
BTW I know the difference between slander and libel also, I was using the same verbage as the various OP's we now have in this LOLOFEST. Believe me, the Ivory Tower really isn't all that tall.

I will simply remind you this was a private matter until two things occured:

1) Raven posted an altered chat log.
2) You posted an extensive blog entry talking about this, and flat out lying in it so often that it is laughable.

Both of these things came before my post, so by all means, please let me know who is making this public? This whole spectacle is very sad. Get help, seriously - all you are doing is hurting people who opened themselves up to you, and hurting yourself.

Could this just be aninstance of parody trolling gone too wrong?

I've seen that blow up in people's faces before, when all they were trying to do is mock the real trolls on a board. I've also seen people go way, way too far with it.

Opinion:

I don't think any of this is funny in the slightest, whether or not this person is guilty, and I think it says volumes about a person who does find it funny.

Moreover, I've read the documents, read this individual's blog, and am far from convinced that she is guilty. Not being in on all this, maybe it is as obvious as people are saying - but the case hasn't been made, as far as I'm concerned. I'm more likely to be swayed by the fact that IP addresses can be faked.

If this person isn't guilty, what is being done to her is a far graver crime than any opinions put on a PDF. I understand that people would be anxious to find out who it is, and have no particular ax to grind just because the signs point to this individual.

But stop and think - what if she isn't the one? Then what have you done to her?
