I think this stems from them just catching up on vbulletin security alerts. In fact, the board's at 3.0.5 which is quite a way behind. 3.0.9 is the last patch (unless you go to 3.5). I seem to remember one of the security problems was with signatures, but I could be wrong there.
Nice to see they keep their software up to date! _____________________

It sure would be neat to have, you know, an actual explanation for why they've done this. Um, yah. I specifically didn't post the particular code that I accidentally stumbled across this weekend... because um, I didn't want to see it reproduced. I mean, if this problem has been around all this time, and then one idiot(me) happens to break something, then immediately un-breaks it... And then e-mails Jeska Linden the offending code, and doesn't tell anyone else the details... Unless someone else intentionally replicated this error and used it, I see no reason for them to just disable the entire feature. Sheesh. I really hope I didn't play a direct or indirect part in this, and appologise if I did. _____________________
